Sasuke stepped out of the house and breathed in deeply the night air. It was a nice night and the sky was dotted with twinkling stars. Sasuke scowled at the little lights above. He preferred it when the night was cloudy. On cloudy nights, he is covered with darkness, and everything around him is cloaked in shadows. He looked down at his waist and tugged in disdain at the big purple bow that was wrapped around him. He never understood why Orochimaru-sama forced everyone to wear that dratted thing. It has been two years, yet he still hated the stupid piece of rope. It was probably Orochimaru's twisted idea of bondage.

He looked up at the stars casually when suddenly a pair of them caught his eyes. He blinked twice to make sure that he wasn't seeing things. In the midst of the stars was a pair that shone a bright blue. He felt his heart jolt as he recalled a similar pair of blue lights that he has looked into before.

The mere thought of him caused his throat to feel dry. It had been two years since he looked into those eyes. Two years since he made those blue eyes tear with sadness and probably hatred. He thought back of that fateful day where they fought in the valley. Sasuke cursed in the darkness. Why am I thinking about him now? He is nothing to me, just a figment of my memory.

But then…he looked up at the night sky. He could not help staring at the pair of blue stars, wishing that they were not so far away from him. He remembered reading somewhere that the stars we see actually had died in their own galaxies billion of years ago. Sasuke let out a bitter laugh. Maybe the blue stars were just like his old friend. Even though two years had passed and the bond between them had long died, his light was still shining inside Sasuke's soul, twinkling faintly.

"Sasuke, come back inside, it is cold outside," called a raspy voice from behind.

Sasuke turned back and looked at the tall dark figure standing there. His yellow snake eyes shone as they stared at Sasuke. Sasuke took a last look back at the pair of blue stars before walking towards his master. He no longer belonged to the place where the stars shone.
