Snow Day
Brittany held the button down on the blender until there was a nice thick froth at the top of her smoothie. She poured to glasses and set them on the table just as Santana walked in. "Morning."
"Hey," Santana said, smiling. She bent down to kiss Brittany, and then their son Abraxas. She still wasn't sure how Quinn and Britt had talked her and Rachel into naming him that, but she was definitely naming the next kid.
"Mami?"
"Yeah, little bear?"
"Where's Mom and Mama?"
Santana sighed. "They're on their way, baby."
It had been snowing the night before, and they'd decided to stay at Leroy and Hiram's house. Santana and Brittany had brought Abraxas home early that evening.
"Why don't you tell Mami a story with your dragons, baby?" Brittany said, grabbing her phone and getting up from the table.
"Yeah," Santana agreed. She pointed to the red toy that was currently guarding a mountain of Cheerios. "What's this one's name?"
"That's Hector. He guards the treasure. And this one's Henry—he burns people to a crisp if they mess with Hector."
Brittany tuned out the seven year old's babbling as she dialed Quinn's number.
"Hey B," Quinn answered.
"Are you guys on your way home?" Brittany asked nervously, peeking out the window.
"Yeah. We just left."
"Please be careful. It's still icy out."
"Rachel's being the textbook definition of careful, I promise," Quinn said. "We'll be home in about an hour at this rate."
Brittany smiled as she heard Rachel sputter indignantly in the background. "Real ETA?"
"About twenty minutes probably. Hey, don't stress, okay? It's not good for you and the baby."
Brittany smiled. "Okay. Get home soon. It's Christmas Eve, and I want to watch A Christmas Story with my family."
Quinn chuckled. "We'll be there soon. Bye Ducky."
"Bye Q." When she turned back to the table, Santana looked quite horrified. "What's wrong?"
"Your son is…well, let's just say if the Saw movies ever get a remake, he could write and direct them."
"I don't understand," Abraxas said.
Santana leaned over and kissed his forehead. "You have a very creative imagination."
The boy beamed at her. "Mom on the phone?"
"Yep! They're on their way."
Santana smiled and put her arm around Brittany as they finished breakfast.
