Mr. Tumnus's Suffering
"Why do you think that this fawn is here?" Jadis asked Edmund. He shook his head. He didn't know. "He is here because you turned him in." she smiled triumphantly, her eyes cutting through Edmund like piercing knives.
Edmund's head swirled. If Mr. Tumnus had befriended Lucy and protected her, then got in trouble for it, then Lucy was in danger! Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked at Mr. Tumnus lying on the icy floor, chained hand and hoof, bleeding, with his horns sawn off. Edmund's heart wrenched when he saw what he had caused. He had betrayed Lucy's friend, and in turn, Lucy herself!
Edmund forced himself to lay on the floor as Mr. Tumnus was, pressing his body against the cold surface. As his body was chilled, he felt like he would vomit. And he did.
