"Is he getting the ball?" asked a kid. He just made a 'goal' and kicked the ball out of range. The ball landed at the feet of a tall man with dirtied boots.
His long black hair flowed from his pony tail. His chopped up bangs had grown out the last time he was seen. His mildly angered expression graced his slightly dirtied face.
Yes, it was the one and only-
While listening to Noise Marie's conversation, Lenalee felt a little strange.
'What is this feeling?' thought Lenalee. As she looked around, her eyes settled on the children who were playing soccer at the center of the town square. Among them, she saw the tall man with long black hair.
Tears started to form from her eyes as she stood silently and watched the man.
While Noise Marie was talking, he noticed that Lenalee had become quiet.
"What is it? Lena-" before he finished asking the question. A distinct sound came to his ears. His headphoned covered ears picked up on something familiar. Placing his hand on his headphone, he said "You stupid bastard." Tears escaped his eyes as he opened them slightly. "You had... already... become free." said Noise Marie as he continued to cry with tears of happiness. Yes, ladies, gentlemen, and those in between.
Kanda Yuu is back.
Lenalee saw him and teared.
'K-Kanda?' thought Lenalee as she bought her slender fingers to her face.
"What? No "Welcome back" for me?" asked Kanda as he smirked at Lenalee and Noise Marie's expressions. He walked up to Noise Marie and patted him on the shoulder.
Overwhelmed by emotion, Noise Marie grabbed Kanda and hugged him. The tears flowed through his eyes like a waterfall.
"Tch." said Kanda as his eye twitched in annoyance. But he sighed. He will let it go this time. It's been a while since he saw his old friend. So, Kanda patted the blind man's back and stared off at the sky.
Noise Marie let go of Kanda and wiped his stray tears from his face. Then he smiled and sighed.
'Ah, he is back.' thought Noise Marie. 'The others would've been happy to see him as well.'
"K-Kanda?" asked Lenalee with a stutter. By now, the tears just wouldn't stop. So, Lenalee ran up to Kanda and hugged him. She cried on his jacket and grabbed it tightly.
Stunned by her actions, Kanda looked down at the Chinese girl. His eyes softened considerably. He placed one hand around her waist and one on her head. He bought her closer to his toned frame and let her cry on him.
Her sobs were heard by Noise Marie's sensitive hearing. He could imagine what just happened and smile slightly. It was nice to have Kanda back. He sort of missed the tempermental one.
Lenalee's sobs died down to soft sniffles. She looked up at Kanda and noticed that he grew a little taller the last time she saw him. She smiled brightly then tiptoed and kissed him on the lip gently.
Stunned by her actions, Kanda froze in place and looked at the Chinese girl. Without any control over his motor sense, he kissed her back gently and reluctantly parted.
"Welcome back, Kanda." said Lenalee with a smile on her face.
Kanda looked blankly at her then 'tched'. He placed his arm around her shoulders and walked to Noise Marie.
It was time he continued his journey with his friends.
