As Fang walked through the forest at the age of 10 he couldn't help but notice the one large flower that was all by its self one the hill. This hill was step and looked very hard to climb. But he decided that he wanted to get this flower for Max.
Now she may not like it because Max wasn't the girly type but that didn't stop young Fang. He liked Max a lot and he thought this might be the perfect way to show her.
Walking to the base of this hill it was step and high.
"I can do this." he muttered to himself. Walking up about 20 feet he stopped and looked up and then down.
"Almost there!" he exclaimed happily, but his foot caught something and he tumbled all the way down the hill. Huffing he got back up and started to climb again. Now it took him about 15 minutes to get 30 feet this time and he smiled, another 15 feet to go.
He climbed and about 3 feet from the top, where the ground was more level, he tripped and went tumbling down again.
When he got to the bottom Fang yelled angrily "Come on! I was so close!" With determination written clearly on his face, Fang hiked back up to the top of that evil hill. Smiling when he reached the top Fang bent down to pick the flower. The sun was just about setting and Max would want him home soon. He started back down the hill and decided to fly home.
Just as he whipped out his wings he realized the he could have flown to the top of the hill and avoided getting all these cuts and bruises, young Fang displayed a long and very colorful sentence that would have gotten him yelled at, at home.
So when he arrived back at the E shaped house Fang hide the flower, that was very beautiful, in his coat.
When Fang walked through the front door he saw that everyone was sitting down for dinner and Max glared at him for being late, then she saw all the cuts and bruises and jumped up saying "What happened Fang!"
"Oh nothing, just fell down a hill." he muttered sitting across from her.
After dinner Fang helped clean up and as everyone was going to bed Fang caught Max's hand as she was heading out the kitchen door "Here Max. I picked this for you. I saw it and thought of you." he said handing her the flower that was still beautiful.
"Thank you Fang its so pretty." she leaned up since Fang was taller then her and kissed him on the cheek.
He blushed and muttered "Not as pretty as you."
"What was that Fang?" Max asked innocently.
"Nothing. Night." he said walking towards the stairs.
"Night." she called after him and smiled as he got a glass to put her flower in. Fang's last statement made Max all happy inside.
