I DO NOT OWN HETALIA!
England's supposed to be elementary age-ish and then Scotland's in his mid to late teens.
Scottie was just about to light the cigar he had managed to smuggle into his room when he heard knocking on his door. Hastily, he stowed it into an empty card pack box.
"Yeah? Come on in."
Slowly, Scottie's bedroom door opened and a blond head poked part-way in, emerald green eyes peering about.
"Artie?" he arched a red eyebrow. Typically his younger brother would be in bed at this time.
The young blond closed the door behind him and walked up to the side of his older brother's bed. He held close his stuffed unicorn plushie which was surprisingly clean for the amount of traveling it did with him. "'S dark," he mumbled through the stuffed animal.
"...It's night, Artie. What did you expect?"
"I know...But, it's scary in there."
"Still afraid of the dark?" the redhead teased.
The small blond blushed and pouted indignantly while still clutching the unicorn. "N-No!" Arthur stammered adamantly.
"Then what's so scary that you need big brother Scottie for?"
"...There are monsters in my bedroom," the younger sibling hesitantly answered, green eyes wide.
"Monsters?" Scottie repeated doubtfully.
"Monsters. They're hiding in the dark."
The older brother sighed, "Can't the fairies keep you safe?"
Arthur shook his head vigorously, "They're too scared to go in."
"Then I'll send Nessie in to protect you."
"But only you can see Nessie..."
He tried not to groan in exasperation at how difficult his younger brother was being. "Then," he said, "what do you expect me to do?"
The blond looke at his socked feet briefly before looking back into his older brother's equally green eyes, "Let me sleep in your room."
"Now, Artie-"
"Please! Until the monsters go away!" he pleaded.
Scottie sighed and shook his head, "You're as stubborn as an old ram." The redhead then patted a spot beside him on the bed. "Quickly now, before I change my mind."
With a grin on his face, Arthur clambered onto his older brother's bed. "Thank you, Scottie! You're not that bad a big brother, after all."
"'Not that bad'? You'll be kicked out of here before you know it, Artie."
The blond stuck out his tongue, "You promised."
"I never promised that. I only said come over here before I change my mind. You're starting to make me change it."
Arthur looked his big brother in the eyes for a few moments before grinning and setting his head down on the pillow. "You wouldn't."
"Sleep now, or I'm kicking you out, Artie," the redhead warned with a brotherly smile.
"G'night, Scottie," the little blond said, nuzzling the pillow and cuddling his unicorn.
And he couldn't help but chuckle fondly at his little brother. "G'night, Artie."
