Disclaimer: I do not own any characters from Inuyasha however, I do own any other.
As my heart fills with grief, I take another sip of sake.
It's been almost two weeks since I lost her. My hangover wasn't enough to kill the agony I've gone through this month. It seemed like the war against the renegades just wanted to bug me. I desire to force a malicious smile, and then laugh sinisterly for Father is on his death bed. Then again…Not only would that boost me up to what I've been craving all along, but… but, Inuyasha would be devastated.
As a brother, I don't want to see him suffer as I am.
As a brother, I want him to grow old as I will… that is, if the alcohol won't kill me first.
Taking another sip of sake, I thought of her again. The way she smiled. How she would carry a dark, foreboding cold stare in her lime green eyes around anyone that was me. Pulling my legs to my chest, I shuddered as I tired to man up and not let a single tear fall. For this girl…This girl was my wife.
I sighed recapping the war in my head… The final moments of her life… The final moments of my once ray of happiness.
I saw her determined. Angered on losing a favored pet and close friend. My lavished damphir moved like the assassin she was, cutting down a path of bodies so she could make her way to the leader. Even though she had started as a beautiful, disciplined killer, still… my bride kept to her word of taking a hit for me. Her body was riddled in open wounds and heavy with poison darts that she had no knowing of.
I saw when the poison struck her system. Her body surged, causing her joints to lock and her body to fall forward. I cursed then dove out for the black haired maiden. Grasping onto her, I seen her smile faintly, she had gotten the head of their general.
Her pale arm fell limp and the man's head fell from her slender fingers. I soon felt her attempt to move closer to me and kiss the bottom on my jaw with her cold lips.
Back at the castle, I lied next to her. Each and every agonizing breath she took crushed my heart. My lover clutched onto my bloodied hitori tightly and glanced up with weak eyes. I couldn't take her gaze. It was killing me.
As I let my golden hues travel to hers, I could see her lips forming on killing blow of a sentence:
"I love you…"
Slowly her bright green orbs slipped into closure and her grips disappear.
I understand how much of a woman I sound like however, it's the dying emotion that the left with her after the funeral. Funny, how I think about this. The elders have been trying to get into my quarters ever since then. I couldn't see the sunlight anymore. I couldn't bear looking at the painting of me and her along the walls of previous Lords and Ladies.
Now that I'm barricaded in my bedroom, I realize that I'm running out of liquor. I should go for something lighter… Wine? Yes, her favorite… Red wine aged over sixty years.
Sighing, I think to myself. I'll have her back. Even if it takes me a thousands years or so.
I'll her back and claim her as my own… I hope. Nevertheless, until, her personality traits, her cold stature, is something I'll keep close to me.
