Baby?

"Why are we taking care of this kid again?" Craig asked his friend, sitting on a bright red couch with his hands behind his head. Ten minutes ago, his best friend Clyde had called him, yelling into the phone, "Help me asshole! I've got a freaking baby!" Curious to see what Clyde meant, Craig had dragged himself away from his Red Racer re-runs and walked a full block to Clyde's house. He had not been disappointed, there really was a baby.

"My parents are paying," Clyde replied looking at the small baby squirming on the blanket in front of him. She was only about 8 or 9 months old (according to Clyde) and had curly black hair and green eyes. She reminded Craig of a female Harry Potter, not that he would ever say that out loud, of course.

Craig narrowed his eyes and looked at Clyde, "Let me rephrase, why am Ihelping youtake care of this kid again?" he asked.

Clyde tapped his chin and said, "Um, because you're a good friend?" looking at the tall raven haired teenager hopefully. Craig rolled his eyes and flipped off the brunette. Clyde was always scheming for money.

"Bullshit, you just want money," Craig accused his best friend. Clyde sighed and picked up the baby, who immediately stared crying. She kicked and balled her hands in Clyde's hair, screaming loudly. This is why Clyde didn't want children.

"Do you even know what the fuck you're doing?" Craig asked, getting annoyed. Clyde looked back to Craig with a look that said I-only-wanted-the-money. Craig groaned and picked up the wailing toddler. She stopped crying instantly and grasped the strings on Craig hat with chubby little hands. Giggling Clyde got off the floor and sat next to Clyde, watching the little girl play. Craig's eyes were soft and caring, not the usual harsh and angry look he wore.

"See? You're a pro at this!" Clyde said, smiling at his best friend. Craig burst out of his daydream and blushed hotly, looking away from Clyde.

"Shut up dude" he said angrily. Taking care of babies was strictly girls business. Soon the child was asleep in Craig's arms, still clutching the pouf of Craig's hat. Clyde carefully took the baby and set her in the crib in the corner. "Now what?" Craig asked when Clyde sat back down. Clyde shrugged grinning.

Craig glared at his best friend. "What?" he asked angrily.

"Oh nothing, Mommy." Clyde said, fighting back laughter. Craig blushed again, but more out of anger than embarrassment.

"Shut the fuck up!" Craig yelled, giving Clyde the finger.

With that Clyde burst into hysterical laughter. Craig pounced on the smaller boy, knocking him to the ground, but Clyde kept on laughing.

Suddenly he felt lips pressing on his own, silencing him. He looked up into Craig's chocolaty brown eyes, and blinked, surprised. Craig sat up and turned on the TV as if nothing had happened. Clyde was silent with shock, watching Craig as he flipped through channels. Clyde blinked at him confused. Did Craig like him?

"Craig…?" he asked. No reply. Suddenly the heard wailing coming from the pink crib. Craig sighed then turned to Clyde.

"It's your turn to get the baby, Daddy." Clyde smirked and pressed his lips against Craig's once more before walking over to grab the baby. She quieted down and played on the floor while Craig and Clyde sat on the couch. As it got later, Clyde found his eyelids drooping. Affter Craig got up and held the baby, Clyde rested his head on the other boy's shoulder and fell asleep.

"Great," Craig grumbled, "Now I've got two chicks sleeping on me."
