It is now 1:35am on the 14th of august and I can't sleep...RESULTS –eep- so I will write a story. Bear with me...I am supposed to be asleep.

Yui flicked back her silver hair and glanced around. She could easily make out the flickering outlines in the dense mist and up in the windows lining the streets.

Shhik.

The sound of his shuriken as it scraped against the wall behind her made her more alert. She grasped the hilts of her katanas and drew them halfway.

Two steps forward and one to the right and...There. She sprung into the alleyway, feeling hundreds of pairs of eyes on her. She drew her swords out completely and now she could see his silhouette three hundred metres away. Fifty metres away and the alleyway became narrower. He had the advantage now. Her katanas trailed sparks in their wake as they carved out her trail in the walls.

"Think you can outdo me?"

The voice had come from behind her...two feet away. She spun around, one katana before her and the other behind her.

"My little Yui, think you can beat your old man?"

She blinked twice and saw his blank eyes loom out of the mist. She thrust with her right and felt a blossoming sting in her chest. She looked down and blanched, her sword was up to its hilt in her chest.

"Father."

"Yui?" His deep scowl swam before her; the blood trickled out of his mouth and down his chin.

"Haaah." She sat bolt upright, the furs falling away from her. She gripped her chest with both hands and gasped. There was no hilt, no blood, just a prick of pain where her heart should have been. The furs pooled around her waist gleamed as the moon slid out from behind a cloud. She flopped onto her back and stretched out her arms towards understanding comfort, only to be met by an empty space.

"What do you see?"

Her head snapped up in his direction. The moonlight made his hair look like a river of the blackest ink flowing and rippling down his back and his white shoulders glow like the palest, most exquisite marble. The breeze picked up and blew in through the open window before him, teasing his hair like fingers.

She could only frown through the waves of tiredness engulfing her.

"Tell me."

"..."

"Yui," he murmured her name in a way that sent shivers down her back.

"The most beautiful thing," she whispered. The moon slipped behind a cloud again. "Black. A black horizon against a blank black night sky. Black clouds over a black wasteland. Nothing, since there isn't any light."

"I love listening to what you come up with when you're half asleep."

"You're pushing it Itachi-sama," she grumbled. They both knew it was an empty threat.

He turned to look at her and again the moon slid out, bathing her in its light. If she tilted her head to this side then it framed his head like a halo. His face was in shadow.

'A fallen angel.'

"Come back to bed," she pleaded. He shook his head and turned to continue staring out of the window.

She snuggled deep into the furs. "Fine freeze for all I care."

"I thought ninja of the hidden mist had no feelings."

"Yui-"
"Don't 'Yui' me, Kisame! I will not watch him throw away his life for some brat who doesn't deserve it." She spun to Itachi. "I'm a ninja of the mist when I'm on a mission! Not when I'm in love!" she roared kicking over the table before she stomped out of the room.

"I thought ninja of the hidden mist didn't love anyone."
