He had been left with nothing. Nothing, but his segway.

He had lost his job.

He'd gone into work that day, the same as every other day. He'd sat in his same cubicle, typed on his same keyboard, and carried his same briefcase. When he was eating his same chicken salad sandwich, careful not to get a crumb on his same gray suit, his boss had come in and told him they were seeking someone different, and he was no longer needed.

He had lost his wife.

When he had come home from losing his job, it had been to his wife of eleven years packing boxes of everything they had into the car and driving away, barely sparing him a goodbye.

He had lost his house.

The eviction notice was posted onto the door, letting him know he had two weeks before they came and took everything.

All he'd been left with was his precious segway.

His wife had thrown a fit when he'd bought it, saying they already had a car. It was an unnecessary purchase, so it was kept in the garage. She despised the thing, so it was no surprise when it was left there after she stole everything else.

Because she hated it, he loved it.

Now it was just him and his segway, with nowhere else to go. He traveled from place to place, sometimes from time to time, dimension to dimension, going only where his segway and misplacement of appendages allowed.

Happy Wheels Fanfic? Why not? I have nothing better to do at midnight on a Saturday. Please review my boredom.
