Ren sat in the living room of his flat surrounded by bottles of scotch, a half empty glass in his hand, trying to drown out the fact that Kyoko hadn't even called on his birthday. He turned his head up to the ceiling and sighed. That girl will kill me one day he thought.

She had only gone away on the modelling trip a few days ago, and damn it all he was the one that she was doing it with. Like a girl like Kyoko needed that gaki beside her to make her look 'sexy'. Ren could just imagine what poses he would make her do, what moves he would use to get a bigger place in her heart. He sighed again, trusting her scarred heart not to let him in again.

Ren looked over to the clock, fourteen minutes and twenty eight seconds till his birthday was over. Twenty five, twenty four, twenty three, twenty tw- a sudden buzzing stopped his count down. He flipped open the screen and saw who was calling at this ridiculous hour and smiled.

"Ohio Kyoko-chan." He said.

"Ah! Tsuraga-sempi! You shouldn't say thing like that – "

"I know, I know. How was the shoot?" he chuckled. Hmm and harring at the words she said, the conversation doing more to make him forget his loneliness than all the scotch in the world combined. He laughed as she described how Sho-baka was making such a mess of the shoot and how he threw a tantrum when he learnt that he wasn't going to be posing with her.

"How did you manage that?" he asked.

"I had the president pull some strings. He knows about Sho-baka and you know how protective he is of all of his workers." Ren answered in conformation knowing exactly how he would have reacted to the news of Sho. "But he got to pose with some big busted lady and he was placated. He always did have a one track mind." She sighed.

The door bell to Ren's apartment suddenly rang out causing Ren to start. Unfortunately Kyoko had heard it as well, "Ah! Gomenosi sempi! It must be really late over there! I'll hang up now!"

"AH, you don't have to Kyoko-chan." He said hurriedly. The bell rang again more furiously than before. Ren turned to look at the door as if willing the person away.

"Go answer the door sempi, I'm sure whoever it is has something important to discuss with you." She said in a soft voice, "and so you shouldn't ignore them."

Ren sighed in defeat, "Hai, kyoko-chan, I'll hang up now."

"Hum." She said in conformation. Ren hung up and shuffled slowly to the door. Inside he was cursing the unfortunate soul who had dared interrupt his time with Kyoko. Opening the door to let out a massive lecture to said person, he had to stop. Outside his door stood a girl. A girl with orange hair. A girl that looked suspiciously like Kyoko. A Kyoko-like girl with a home baked cake. Ren blinked. And blinked again. And just one more time for luck.

"Are you not going to invite me in Tsuraga-san?" Kyoko asked. He moved to the side, a questioning look on his face. "We finished early, so I came down to say happy birthday in person." She smiled brilliantly at Ren, "Happy Birthday Tsuraga san!" she placed the cake on the table and mentioned to him to sit down. "Since I have tomorrow off why don't I make you breakfast, I bet you haven't been eating properly right? I'll make you and Yashiro-san a bento as well, at least then I know that-"

Ren tuned her out as he watched her gleeful expression. A smile crept onto his face as he got over the mini heart attack. Yes, she'll definitely be the death of me.
