Superhero Origins: Crimson Shadow and Golden Dragon
Today was the day that 7 year old Ruby Rose decided she would no longer be Ruby Rose she would be the Crimson Shadow and her sister Yang would be the Golden Dragon. Ruby grabbed her bright red cloak, draping it over herself and pulling her hood down low over her head and ran to her sister's room. She knocked furiously on the door, jumping up and down on her tippy toes in her excitement. Yang answered her door only to see her little sister suddenly stop bouncing around and get very serious.
"Hey, Rubes," she looked down at her sister, cocking an eyebrow, "Something you wanted to talk to me about?"
"My name isn't Ruby! I'm the Crimson Shadow and I've come to ask for your help to fight crime as my sidekick, the Golden Dragon!" Ruby beamed at Yang from under her hood.
"Sidekick, huh? I don't think I'm really sidekick material," said Yang as she leaned on her doorframe, trying not to giggle at Ruby's antics, "Partner sounds better to me."
"Then let's go fight crime!" Ruby squealed, bouncing in excitement, "Oh wait! You need a disguise or else everyone will know your secret identity!"
Yang grinned at Ruby then grabbed her scarf and wrapped it around her head so that only her eyes and hair were visible.
"Think this'll work, Rubes?" Yang asked her baby sister.
"I already told you I'm the Crimson Shadow, not Ruby!" she whined, "But yes, that'll work."
"I'm not Yang, I'm the Golden Dragon!" Yang said, imitating her sister and winking at her.
"Then let's fight crime!" Ruby responded, spinning around, her cloak twirling around her.
Ruby started running down the hall to go outside with Yang close behind her. Suddenly Ruby stumbled, her long twirling red cape tripping her up, and crashed to the ground. Yang, unable to stop, crashed into Ruby and ended up landing on top of her.
"Yang! You're crushing me!" Ruby squeaked, her voice muffled by her older sister.
"Alright, alright," Yang said, quickly standing and helping her sister up, "We need to do something about your cloak."
"How about…" Ruby trailed off and thought hard for a minute, "You give me a piggyback ride to get around!"
"Up you go!" Yang replied, pulling Ruby up onto her back. She looked back over her shoulder at Ruby "Now it's really time to fight crime."
Yang ran outside with Ruby still on her back and they had a wonderful time fighting imaginary thugs all day until their dad called them in for dinner.
