Martha felt as though she was in a snowball; snowmen lined the streets and all shops were lit with fancy lights. She turned; ready to make her way home when a familiar face caught her eye.

"Donna!" she called.

The face of Donna looked up at the call of her name but could not find the source of noise.

"Donna! It's me! Over here!" Martha called, ignoring the onlookers.

Donna's eyes finally managed to set onto Martha's brown ones. Martha hurried towards her and opened her arms wide, ready to embrace her when-

"Who the bloody hell are you?" Donna said, rudely.

Martha rolled her eyes. Donna had a sense of humour but just because she was part timelord part human, she had no right to play tricks on a friend.

"Come on Donna. Seriously, what has the Doctor taught you all this time?" Martha laughed.

Donna's blank face greeted her.

"The Doctor?" she whispered.

Martha nodded slowly, not so convinced that it was all just to pull her leg.

Donna shook her head and returned to Earth.

"So who are you, then? Don't go wasting my time, alright?" she snapped, returning to her brisk manner.

Martha frowned, realising that she's clearly missed something.

"Donna, it's me. Martha. Don't you remember? We travelled with the doctor? The Sontarans? Jenny? The Daleks? The TARDIS?"

Donna's eyes suddenly became dreamy and unfocused. Without warning, her hands flew up to her head and she moaned the words, "I remember. Oh my head. It's burning Martha. It's burning."
