Dark Shroud
I was a beacon,
A shining light,
A star.
But now, the
Darkness threatens
To cover, to
Destroy me.
I waged a war,
Fighting the darkness
That hid deep
Within my heart.
I gave up.
The inevitable is coming.
I welcome the darkness,
Ask it to
Deliver me from
This world of pain.
My light is fading…
It is going out.
Finally.
A ray of light pierces
The darkness that
Near surrounds me.
I see Mokie behind it…
He came for me?
I see his face,
Wracked with worry,
With fear.
More lights come down,
And I see the ones
Sending them, as well.
Yugi, Ryou, Tristan, Téa,
Even, Duke, Marik,
The mutt…
WHY?
Why come for me,
I who have harmed them?
They have come…
And for me.
I open my real eyes,
All is still dark.
Again, I look
All I can see is
Myself, held together,
Barely,
From when I tried to end it.
Held together from
My jump…
The time I succumbed
To the shadow.
One more time, I look,
I see them around me,
Gazing, hoping,
Wishing.
I smile,
The darkness
Lifted.
My will to live
Restored.
