Mitten Holding
"What?" Matthew's eyebrows shot to his hairline as he stared at his aunt. Was she serious!? The brunette-and-blonde shifted uncomfortably before the younger nation and she fussed a lip between her teeth. He stared, no gawked, at her and she sighed before repeating.
"I don't know how to ice skate but since it's going to be the holiday season soon...I want to learn." She said and returned to fussing her lip. Her nephew still gawked at her and she heaved another, heavy sigh. "I'll go as someone else to help then."
"But why now?" Matthew said as he flailed his hands to keep her standing still to make sure she wasn't going to flee because the Canadian didn't understand right then and there. "I mean, you've had forever to learn, why now?"
Emilie ducked her head and murmured something the snow nation didn't pick up. He asked her to repeat and she did louder. "I want to be able to skate with Arthur!"
Well, that surely explained some things. Matthew smiled at her and he nodded. Now she looked confused and gawked at him. "Y,you're not going to laugh at me?"
"Why would I do that, eh?" The blond asked as he tilted his head much like Emilie's seen his bear do. He was really perplexed as to why she would accuse him of such things. Shaking her head, the romance speaking country didn't answer the question. Matthew seemed accept that and move on as he merely gestured for them to move out of the meeting room. "Shall we go find a pond then?"

The sun was halfway to resting point when the pair reached a sturdy looking pond with two sets of skates. Each were bundled up to their own comforts. Emilie was clad in layers and layers of fancy looking winter clothes while her nephew was in a long sleeve shirt and a hoodie with a pair of old, thick jeans. They sat on a bench and swapped their shoes with their skates and the blond offered his hand to his aunt. "Shall we?"
A sweet smile graced the nervous woman's lips as she agreed and took the warm, mitten covered hand of Matthew and the two rose and tentatively traveled onto the ice. There were some families and couples out on the peach bathed pond. The air was filled with happiness and laughter. Matthew adored how the people were chatting among themselves and children played together and helped each other up when they tumbled.
Holding the other's mitten tight, the two nations set out to teach and learn the joys of ice skating, complete with laughter and chatter.
