Pam rushed out of the office, calling her mother to pick up Cece from daycare at the end of the day. Barely stopping for the amount of time it took her to buckle her seatbelt, Pam got into her car and drove much faster than she should've to Scranton's local hospital. She asked a woman at the nurse's station in the lobby to direct her to James Halpert's room, and burst in without knocking.

"Jim!" she called to her husband, who was sitting in a hospital bed, his leg wrapped in a cast and elevated as he watched a baseball game.

"Hey," he grinned, turning to look at her with a wave. She rushed over to him and pulled him into a long kiss.

"Hey, hey, Crazy, calm down. I appreciate the enthusiasm, but I'm fine." Jim assured her, rubbing his hand on her forearm.

"Jim, you were in a car accident!" Pam exclaimed.

"And I'm fine," he re-emphasized. "Sweetheart, sit down." Jim said, directing his emotional wife to a chair. "Who's getting Cece?" Jim asked, noticing that the work day was almost over and someone would need to pick her up.

"My mom," Pam answered, almost breathless.

"Babe, take a few deep breaths, I'm fine." he reiterated.

"No, you were just in a car accident. I'm the one who should be taking care of you," Pam reasoned.

"Sweetheart. I've got nurses taking care of me. Take care of you for a few minutes. I'm okay, bones heal." He said, gesturing to his leg. Pam knew he was right, and took a few deep breaths. After a moment, a pretty, thin, latina nurse came in to give Jim more pain medicine. "Thank you, Lucia," Jim said as the nurse turned to leave.

"Of course, hon. What kind of nurse would I be if I didn't take care of my patients?" Lucia said in a voice that Pam knew to be more than just friendly.

"You know her?" Pam asked.

"Yeah, she's my nurse. She said I should probably stay the night tonight." Jim explained.

Pam blew a raspberry. "Oh, I'm sure she'd just love that."

"Pam, what are you trying to say?" Jim asked, genuinely confused.

"Oh please, Jim. It's obvious she's attracted to you. Have you ever seen anyone stay the night at the hospital for a fractured shin? If she wasn't attracted to you, she would've just given you a prescription for pain meds and sent you on your way. But it's fine, it's fine. She's pretty, she's young, she's not pregnant-"

"Pam, what are you saying? You know I wouldn't do that."

"No, what I'm saying is, it's fine if you wanted to. I get it. She's really pretty." Pam said, though it was evident to Jim that this was not fine.

"Sweetheart, do you think that just because you're pregnant, I don't find you attractive anymore?" Jim asked, shaking his head in disbelief. "Pam, you're giving me more than I ever could've asked for. I love you, I always have, and now you're giving me another baby, and you're beautiful. Nobody else even stands a chance."

Pam smiled. She probably should've known that it was just the pregnancy hormones that made her feel so insecure. She felt safe and loved with Jim, she always had. Jim motioned for her to give him a kiss, and she granted it, stopping for a moment to whisper in his ear.

"Maybe when you're feeling better, a sexy nurse will pay an in-home visit."
