"Hmm? What? You're making that cute face again. Did you fall in love with me?"
The first scene of the movie was when Haruhi walked into Music Room 3 on that sunny afternoon. She would have walked right back out, if she hadn't been quasi-raped into breaking that vase. And she uses "quasi-rape" very lightly; she could have sued their rich asses into oblivion but she refrained. The were lucky. For now.
The next years would be a condensed montage of funny scenes and the audience would laugh and giggle; they'd watch as Haruhi and the Host Club bonded and grew as a family. They would grow attached to the characters; they would laugh when they did, cry when they did, gasp in horror when they did. And when Haruhi and Tamaki finally became a couple, they would feel that joy of knowing they finally saw it happen. College would pass and the couple would move in together, the passing days would be the romantic part of the movie, and squeals of joy would deafen all the other viewers. But as cliche as it is, all good things come to an end.
The climax would be this very moment now. That moment in the movie when the two main characters would fight or separate some how, and the audience is left hanging, knowing that they'd be fine in the end but not knowing how. The viewers would watch teary eyed as they would fight and scream, and how Tamaki would storm out of their home. They'd watch in abject horror as they watch Haruhi sink to the ground, holding herself and holding back her tears.
"How can you let him drape himself all over you? In front of me no less!" Tamaki grips her shoulders, violet eyes searching for something, anything. "Are you unhappy, Haruhi? Do you not love me anymore?"
Haruhi just looks defiantly at him, never looking down; he knows the answer, why is he asking?
"You're an idiot. And you're hurting me." She's blunt and he flinches, letting her go slowly. "You know that right? You're an idiot. You're being obnoxious and over dramatic. You're a spoiled narcissist and I'm tired of it. You-"
He doesn't let her finish and he explodes, angrier than Haruhi has ever seen him.
"Well, you never care! You have no right to start criticizing me when you aren't perfect! You reject my advances, you're blunt and emotionless and I don't know why I ever fell for you. I don't know. And I don't know why I love you anymore."
He storms out of the room, leaving her behind frozen staring after him. She sinks to the ground holding herself, rubbing at her arms. Big brown eyes fill with tears and she can't help but sob. She gathers herself, trying to complete what she was trying to say before he left.
"You're an idiot," she whispers. "But I love you, and only you."
The climax is always that dreaded part of the movie and it's inevitable, no matter how hard anyone tries to avoid it.
The audience doesn't know how this will turn out, but they watch. Still hoping, still knowing everything will be fine because it always gets better. They don't know how and when but it will get better.
And the movie plays on.
