Another random oneshot that is probably really OOC. I'm sorry it's so short…enjoy!

Disclaimer: I don't own anything but the plot.

The freshly fallen snow crunched beneath her boots. She inhaled slowly, the scent of pine filling her nose and rejuvenating her. The blonde carefully treaded along the beaten path, not wanting to attract unwanted attention. If her memory served her correctly, there would be a hollowed tree by the edge of the forest.

A clap of thunder caught her attention. She wrapped her baby blue jacket tighter around herself and broke into a run. The first few drops of rain pattered against her head, soaking her clothes through as it became heavier. She came to the end of the path and looked around frantically, trying to spot the hollowed tree. It all looked the same, drab, dull and dismal. Eventually, she just gave up hope and sat under the nearest tree, hoping that not as much rain would pass through the little leaves it had left.

It had only been a few minutes when thunder sounded again, and this time she swore that she had heard someone whimper. With superhearing, it was kind of hard not to.

"Is someone there?" There was no reply. Bubbles looked out from under the tree and attempted to peer through the heavy downpour. A rather large tree trunk caught her eye and she frantically scampered towards it, relieved when she located the small hole on one side that allowed entry. She crawled through it gratefully, not wanting to be out in the storm any longer.

"Who's there?" The blonde jumped up at the new voice, taking a defensive stance. The tree wasn't that wide, making her wonder how she didn't notice another presence inside it. There seemed to be figure huddled up on the opposing side. She approached slowly, eyeing the figure very closely.

"I'm Bubbles. Who are you?" The figure seemed to relax and turned around. Although the inside of the tree was dark and offered little light, she could still recognise the blond hair and sparkling blue eyes.

"Boomer?" His lips curved into a smile as he waved cheerfully to her. She raised an eyebrow and sat down beside him.

"Are you sheltering from the storm as well?" He nodded, suddenly tensing up. He yelped as another lightning strike echoed across the forest. She couldn't help the giggle that escaped her lips when he pulled his legs in and rocked back and forth in a fetal position.

"Are you afraid of thunder?" He seemed to hesitate before nodding. Her cerulean eyes scanned his condition. His eyes were as wide as dinner plates and all colour had been drained from his face. The rain had made his blond hair stick to his face and his clothes were drenched. She also noticed that his eyes were a bit red, signs that he had been crying.

"I got separated from my brothers," he murmured quietly. She couldn't help but sympathise for him. She awkwardly placed an arm around his torso, using her free hand to pat his head gently. Both of their faces reddened, although they were secretly quite comfortable with their close proximity. The sound of the rain quietly pattering outside was quite soothing. Bubbles found herself humming in an attempt to keep herself awake. She heard a light snore and her face flushed as she noticed that Boomer had fallen asleep on her shoulder. He looked almost angelic, so innocent and vulnerable. It was hard to believe that he was a former villain. She stroked his hair and smiled softly to herself.

"I'll always be there for you."

Aha random idea that wouldn't go away. I'm sorry for the overused line at the end there, had no idea how else to finish it. So yes it's probably not that good but if you'd like to challenge that notion then by all means leave a review! Constructive criticism is welcomed with open arms but please don't flame. Flames hurt you know. Oh and if there are any mistakes please tell me so that I can edit it. Thank you!
