AN: I finally saw West Side Story! Music, dancing and acting are amazing. Anyway I was listening to Somewhere the Idina Menzel and Lea Michelle version and thought of this. This is my first Wicked and first song fic. It is book-verse. This just jumped in my head and refused to leave. Love it, hate let me know reviewers get a virtual cookie .I don't own the characters or song but I own the idea.
There's a place
"What do you mean? Of course you're coming with me. Nanny and Nessa will kill me, and what of Morrible? I can't go back without you Elphie."
"You will find a way. You lived without me before. Just hold out my sweet. If you can hold out for me, just think someday there will be a time for us, time together with time to spare…someday." With one last kiss Elphaba turned away from the carriage into the crowded streets. Glinda craned her neck out the window to find no trace of green.
Glinda could still feel the sting of her tears from that fateful day. Despite the marriage she was still holding on, her heart only belonging to one person. Her days were filled playing the perfect hostess, always smiling while crying inside. At night she dreamt of the place and time where the two of them could be together. These special slices of heaven were deemed her somewhere dreams. It was their place. A place with open air and peace and quit. How she longed for the day Elphaba would find a new way of living. The day Elphaba would hold her hand and take her there.
Elphaba gazed up at the skylight. The moon shining upon the bed, dancing on the blue diamond's beside her. Somewhere there's a place for us. A time and place for us. The promise she uttered all those years ago never left Elphaba' mind .She longed for the day she could hold Glenda's hand and take her there. To the place with a new way of living and time to care. All she could hope for was Glinda's forgiveness. Forgiveness for leaving. Forgiveness for Fiyero. Forgiveness, somewhere someway. Forgiveness was what she wanted more than anything, more than a soul. Somehow, someday, somewhere there's a place for us.
