Katie Gardner hummed as she strolled through the Strawberry Fields. Today had been the perfect day. This morning she woke to find the lilies she had been growing all summer finally bloomed. Then, Chiron let all of the cabins have a free day to do whatever they wanted. Since her friends Percy and Annabeth went to repair the temples in Olympus, Katie spent the whole day gardening: her favorite pass time. But, the absolute best part of her day was when Will Solace asked her out. He was the only thing Katie could think about since the war. The way he fought so valiantly made her heart melt. The only thing wrong with this day was that the Stoll Brothers have been suspiciously quiet.
"Hey Katie-Kat", she spoke too soon. Connor Stoll starts strutting towards her. He stumbles to the left and accidently steps on one of her newly grown strawberries.
"What do you want Connor?" Katie scowls. Nothing could ruin her day faster than the youngest Stoll brother. At least he was less irritating than Travis.
"I need your help with something." He says, crouching next to Katie. He smelled like chocolate and glue—the odor of pranking.
"You need my help with something? What is it, growing poisonous strawberries to give to the Aphrodite cabin?"
"No, it's not about pranking. It's about—wait you can do that?"
"Connor will you tell me what this is about or not?"
"Oh, right, I need your help with Travis. He is—"
Katie became suddenly concerned. "Travis? What's wrong with Travis? Is he okay?"
"Hmm, someone seems awfully worried about someone they don't like." Connor smirked. Katie couldn't help but notice he looked even more like an elf. If she wasn't so upset, she might have actually laughed.
"Connor, focus! What is going on with Travis?"
"Oh right, he's been upset all day. I can't figure out what's wrong with him! I've tried everything, but he just keeps laying on his bed and refuses to talk to anyone. I even offered for us to steal Mr. D's favorite tiger shirt and he said no! Katie, I'm really scared that something's seriously wrong."
"Connor, I would love to help, but I don't know what I can do." Katie turns back to the strawberry vine she was enchanting. Connor grabs her shoulder. Katie is about to tell him to leave, until she sees the desperation in his eyes.
"Please Katie, you're my last hope. Travis is always happier whenever you're around. I need you."
"Okay, I guess there's no harm in trying." Katie stands, brushes the dirt off her jeans, and heads towards the Hermes Cabin.
