Danny just sat there helpless. His partner was lay in a hospital bed again and this time he was unconscious. Sure Steve ended up in the emergency room a lot but never for something as serious as this. Danny had lost count of the amount of times that he had given the SEAL a lecture on thinking but he knew that no matter how many times he gave Steve the same lecture it wouldn't sink in because no matter how much he acted the hard man, he still cared. If there was even a small chance that McGarrett could catch the bad guy then he would and Danny would follow like he always did, pulling him back from the edge before he did something stupid. That's why his partner was lying there. Because he couldn't run fast enough to pull Captain Stupid back from the edge before he jumped after a fugitive. Grace had begged her mother to let her go to the hospital to see her father and her adopted uncle. Grace was so determined that she would go to the hospital that she called Chin Ho to pick her up, in the end Rachel gave up and took the little girl to the hospital.
"Danno!" Grace said upon seeing her father in the hallway and running towards him.
"Hey monkey, what are you doin' here?" he asked as he hugged her tightly.
"I wanted to see you and uncle Steve." she admitted.
"Come on then. He's in the room, do you want to see him?" Danny asked his daughter, knowing that she would feel better once she saw him even though the idiot wasn't awake.
"Yep. Is uncle Steve really bad?" Grace asked, seeing straight through her father's fake smile just like she always did.
"Your uncle Steven will be fine. You know what he's like, we haven't found anything that can knock him down for long." Danny replied, trying to shake his worry off with a joke.
"You don't have to worry Danno. He'll be okay, he always is." Grace replied.
