It was a crisp autumn morning on the grounds. Leaves were scattered about everywhere and a cool gentle breeze was making them dance across the lawn. Off in the distance you could see the giant squid swimming playfully in the lake, and on the other side you could see the whomping willow swinging at a first year that had gotten too close by accident. James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew were all lounging under a big tree talking and laughing at a joke James had just said. The four boys were in their fifth year at Hogwarts and were completely inseparable.
As the four of them were laying underneath the tree, James caught a glimpse of red out of the corner of his eye. He quickly sat up straighter and called out, "Hey Evans! Why don't you come join us?" Lily Evans was in the same year as James. She had flaming red hair and she was smart, witty, and the top of the class, and she hated James Potter.
As she was walking by with her friend Severus she turned and looked at James and told him, "Because, you are an arrogant big headed bully!" She turned back around and started to walk off and as she did James shot a hex at Severus that caused him to break out in boils. "You might want to start washing your hair more Snivellus," he taunted, "all that grease is causing you to break out." The four friends hollered with laughter as Lily stood there horrified at what James had done. She quickly reversed the spell and yelled at James, "You're despicable Potter," and turned and marched towards the castle.
"You shouldn't have done that prongs," said Remus, "You'll never get her to like you now." "Oh calm down Moony," James replied, "She'll realize eventually that Snivellus is a loser and we're more fun to hang out with." Remus just shook his head and went back to reading his book as the other three started plotting new pranks for Severus.
