A Reason to Fear
Harry and Ron with eyes wide each stepped as far away from their mutual best friend as possible when the girl turned to face the man that had just spoken to her. Her head turned first then tilted as her body followed. When she spoke it was in a slightly lower voice than normal and she spat out the first word like most would a curse, "Professor Snape, I have a wand, and I know how to use it."
It was then that the man addressed realized that the girl had her wand held low in hand and exactly where it was pointed. His glance at the young men just confirmed their fear. He was no longer sure he was the one to instill the looks he was receiving.
Hermione continued speaking, "I suggest, that you turn around, and walk away, while you still can. Unless you truly wish to become a victim of PMS."
Snape raised one eyebrow and as he cleared his throat his eyes flicking to the boys. Potter gave the barest of negative head shakes. He said "I see, gentlemen, Miss Granger." He gave a sight bow, turned on his heal and left happy to have survived the encounter intact. He made a mental note to add Miss Granger to his chart so he would know at which times it was safe to approach.
Of course if any of his students knew he kept a record of their menses he would really have a reason to fear.
