Summary: Chief Yagami is shocked by a revelation concerning his son. Light was the one who did it. Light was the one who ate the last bag of chips.
Alright, I typed this up on my iPod and I don't even know if anyone's written something like this yet. I don't know because I'm not a part of this fandom :\ This is set in the anime around when Light has all those cameras in his house.

Chief Yagami entered the investigation room where the observation of his home was being held. The room was dark and cluttered with papers. Books and equipment were strewn across the floor and he managed to step around the mess without falling. L sat at the monitors with Matsuda nearby. The Chief figured the others must have gone home already; it was getting quite late.
"You're still here?" came L's voice. The man's eyes remained glued to the glowing screen and he didn't so much as turn to face the visitor. The Chief scowled. The door had been unlocked and anybody could have come in. He could have been an assassin and L doesn't so much as turn his head. Sure, Matsuda was there, but Matsuda is useless.
"How is the investigation coming along?" he inquired. The steaming hot mug of coffee he had picked up from the hotel's cafeteria was warm in his hands, and he took a sip. It was going to be a long night, especially if it was only the three of them.
"Your son is leaving his room for what appears to be a midnight snack," L informed the Chief.
A snack?
The old man leaned over to see that indeed, his son was reaching into the cabinets where the Chief kept his potato chip stash. His son reached for the last bag and closed the cabinet after him. Oh bitch, HELL NO. Light retreated to his room upstairs and locked his door. The Chief watched in disbelief as the bag was ripped open. Light sat down at his desk and began to study with the bag of chips to the side. After a few minutes he took a potato chip and he ate it.
The Chief was appalled by his son's behavior.
"That's it," he snapped. "My son is Kira."
L looked up from the screen.
"What makes you say that?" he questioned in that dull voice of his.
"He's eating the last of the potato chips! Those were mine!" he exclaimed as the mug of coffee left his hands and soared right into Matsuda's face. "I had my freaking NAME on those! Only Kira would commit such a heinous crime!"
L stared at him skeptically.
Later that night, Light Yagami was arrested under the suspicion of being Kira. The Chief turned out to be right, so they shot Light several times and hoped he wouldn't come back to life as a zombie in the upcoming apocalypse. The bag of potato chips was confiscated and returned to its rightful owner. Then everyone lived happily ever after. At least until the Chief ran out of potato chips again.
