The Lord of the Rings
Was my first fandom
It was a strange thing
It seemed kind of random
But suddenly
I became completely obsessed
I read fanfictions hungrily
My life was a mess
I went to the internet
And found that it was okay
That I didn't need to fret
It was simply the fangirl way
I found out that others felt the same
About Tolkien's tale
That I wasn't to blame
I hadn't failed
Forums said, 'Hey,
Being a fangirl isn't wrong
Fandoms can brighten your day
They make you belong'
I have an internet family
Fellow fangirls and fanboys
And while it may seem silly
It's not just noise
It's a way of life.
