Out of the Limelight.

Potter. He always takes the spotlight from everyone else. I've noticed this with Weasley, too. And Granger. And me.

Want an example? Take my second year. Something was attacking the students. And Lockhart had started a duelling club, claiming we would need it. He said Professor Snape was his assistant, and I saw the anger in his face when he said that. So he did a powerful disarming charm on him - and Lovehart smashed into the wall!

So they put us all in pairs - Snape put me with Potter, and asked for a demonstration. I wasn't even thinking of simply disarming - I hit him hard on two - but Potter retaliated. Eventually, Lovehart stopped us, but, like me, Snape had other ideas. He told me to use the Serpent Spell, Serpensortia, that Salazar created. So I did.

Father said my talents were special. He said I was going to be the only one in the school who could do what I can. But I wasn't.

When the snake came out of my wand, I saw Potter looked scared. I was about to show off, show off with what I could do, perhaps scare them, but Snape pushed me aside. He was going to 'save' Potter. Again.

But he didn't have a chance. Potter started talking to the snake - yelling "Leave him," when it started to go toward the Mudblood, Finch-Flechley. And it obeyed him.

Everyone looked shocked, but me especially. Father said I would be the only Parseltongue at the school. He was wrong.

I told Crabbe and Goyle that I wanted to know who the Heir of Slytherin was. I wanted to be the one killing Mudbloods. But I didn't want to help HIM.
