Bleeding Love

Nothing's greater than the rush

That comes with your embrace

And in this world of loneliness I see your face

Yet everyone around me thinks I'm going crazy

Maybe, maybe

There was a sharp intake of breath as their skin collided. Slender fingertips dug into the smooth creases underneath shoulder blades, igniting a raging fire between the small space separating their bodies. Tangled limbs clashed together as gasps of ecstasy were emitted from both parties. Goosebumps rose to the surface at the slightest caress…

But it was all in vain. Sure enough, it was happening, but it was only fantasy. Soon enough, reality would set in, making them fall back into a world of disenchantment. A world where they both had significant others who loved them dearly. A world where what they wanted meant nothing.

For one, there was no greater rush than being a victim of an angel's embrace; so soft and precious. The other enjoyed their butterfly kisses; sweet, like honey. Only when they were together did they feel content, whole.

Too bad they had to keep it a secret.

In the eyes of society, they would appear to be the worst of sinners. Shunned, ridiculed. Their eyes held an ocean of loneliness that constantly threatened to overflow and drown them in their sorrows. If only they didn't have to worry about life outside their one little room, their sanctuary.

Love is supposed to be this heartfelt emotions that overwhelms the mind and fools with the senses, but for Alice, it only brought on a whole new wave of pain. Every time she looked at Bella, Edward was by her side, whispering sweet nothings in her ear, and holding her hand in his. She would throw her head back and laugh at something funny he said, a warm smile crossing her face. She tried to imagine her in his place, but she just couldn't do it. All that was projected from her best friend when they were together was lustful sadness. She could never manage to completely fake her disdain.

It was clear that Alice's feelings were unrequited, returned by nothing but helpless charity. That was why when she felt Bella's hands travel down her cold back, wrapping back around to rest on her hips, Alice's moans were not that of pleasure. They were from the everlasting pain that enveloped her as Bella cut through her heart with an invisible knife. After all, what more could she expect life to grant her than a bad case of bleeding love?
