A lil story inspired by the song Cell Block Tango from the musical Chicago
Thanks to LilyStarbuck for her help :) and mentioning someone should write this :)
Thanks to Lynette for BETAing :)
Yes, it's a tad choppy, but I was told it was fine the way it was :)
Disclaimer - I own nothing...Calleigh belongs to CBS/CSI and the song is Chicago's
Murder in the Glades
The police entered the house to find billionaire Thomas, Tommy, Duquesne shot dead on the couch in his living room. His young wife was beside him, her face, hands and crisp white shirt covered in blood. They escorted her out of the house as the crime scene investigators came to process the house and take the body away. They took the shotgun that was lying on the floor.
Murder Trial of Calleigh Duquesne Coming to a Conclusion Today
"Mrs Duquesne, did you murder your husband?" The prosecution asked, for what seemed to be the hundredth time.
"No, I did not murder my husband." The blonde replied, teary eyed. "I loved him with all my heart, I would have never hurt him." She added.
"Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, my client is guilty, she wouldn't have killed her husband and since there isn't enough evidence to prove she did, I demand an innocent verdict."
The Verdict is In
"Member of the jury, what is your verdict?" The judge asked as a member of the jury stood. Calleigh grabbed her attorney's hand, nervous.
"We, the jury, found the defendant not guilty of the murder of Thomas Duquesne." He read out. Calleigh jumped up and hugged her lawyer.
"Mrs Duquesne, you are free to leave," the judge said
"Thank you so much." She smiled as she addressed the jury, the judge and her lawyer.
Housewife: "He had it Coming."
"Calleigh, I have to say, you were incredible, but I was wondering what really happened that night? Who shot your husband?" Chad asked quietly as they were standing in front of Calleigh's car. The blonde smiled and then looked up at him.
"You know how people have these little habits that get you down? Like Tommy. Tommy liked to chew gum. No, not chew…POP. So I came home this one day and I am really irritated and I'm looking for a bit of sympathy and there's Tommy layin' on the couch, drinkin' a beer and chewin', no, not chewin'. Poppin'. So, I said to him, I said, "you pop that gum one more time..." and he did. So I took the shotgun off the wall and I fired two warning shots," Calleigh paused, "Into his head." She finished slowly recalling the night. She looked up at her lawyer with a grin.
"Dear God! You were guilty!" Chad gasped looking at her. Calleigh turned to him with a grin.
"I never said that." Calleigh said, "The moral of the story is…he had it coming." She added before getting into her car and driving away a free woman.
