music of the cores
"space, space, space. dad, you said I would see space someday... and i reeeeeeeaaaaalllllllyyyyy want to see it..." the little yellow eyed core sat in his glass box, thinking, waiting, remembering... because unlike GLaD0S, the other cores remember when they were human. and the space sphere, who was once a little boy named Nathan, watched his father fly of into the stars in a NASA-built rocket.
but now he had no legs, or arms, or apendages of any kind. so he was trapped. with all the other cores. they all remembered their pasts as well, for instance, the adventure sphere was once a daring explorer named rick, Nathan never really liked rick, and usually found his gloating extremely annoying. so Nathan usually just drowned him out by constantly yelling the first thing that came to mind, which was usually "SPACE!" rick would then respond by eventually shouting "space, you, in it, we get it! EVREY ONE KNOWS THIS!" in retaliation.
today rick was being exeptionally annoying. "hey rick. some of u-SPACE-s are trying to remember what i-SPACE-'ts like to be -SPACE- human! so if y-SPACE-ou could shut up, tha-SPACE-t'd be great."
"buddy, i'll stop my talkin' when you stop saying space between every freakin' word"
"I can't help it! it's a glitch!"
"then i guess my amazing good looks are a glitch too"
"rick, shut the hell up. we all look the -SPACE-ing same"
as Space yelled this one last remark, the entire facility shook. suddenly a metal claw reached down and wrapped its metallic, lifeless embrace around poor little Nathan. he was carried through tubes and pipes and test chambers, then, he was brought to her chamber. he hung, suspended from the ceiling for a short time, until he was picked up by a strange woman.
"wh-SPACE-o are you?" she gazed at the little ball quizically for a second and said nothing. after an instant of running and more explosions and debris falling from the ceiling, the lady jumped off this blue goo and plugged little Nathan into the hulking monstrosity, instantly he felt the power surge through him, he looked down to see, not his mother, but a blue eyed brother of his. then the room exploded into fire. Nathan looked around and saw his home being burned, and knew what he alone had to do. much to his dismay, he was soon joined by rick, and the pink one who was always to busy talking to say his own name, so they all called him the fact sphere. suddenly, he saw the lady run to a seprate room. then that room exploded, the lady was hurt,k but she took a strange gun and shot an orange circle under the blue eyed brother, and one through a hole in the ceiling. Nathan heard a sound a looked down to see... SPACE! all this wonderful space! right below him! an instant had gone by and already he saw the blue eyed brother trying to pull himself and the lady in, but why? don't they love space as much as him? he decided to show them the wonders of space.
he leapt off the plug screaming "space, space, SPAAAAAAAACCCCCCEEEEEEE!" and knocked the lady free. then, the metal claw cut the blue eyed brother free and saved the lady, she looked human, so she probably couldn't breathe. but he was in space! all this space! he thought back to who the claw might be so he could thank them, then he realized.
"thank -SPACE-you mother GLaDOS!"
