"Jenny..." Gibbs questioned suspiciously, walking into the house after work. Jenny Shepard, and current director of NCIS stood unbeknownst to him in the kitchen.
"What's that noise...?" he asked, worried. Coming from the kitchen were small...chirps, Gibbs thought horrified.
"Jenny, what have you done to my house?" Gibbs walked quickly into the kitchen, and was taken aback with what he saw. The redhead sat on the counter, wearing jean shorts and a clingy tank top, surrounded by small bundles of fur.
"They're baby chickens!" Jenny said excitedly.
"I see that," said Gibbs, almost bewildered. "How many of 'em?"
"I only ordered ten..." Jenny started.
"This is more than ten." Gibbs said pointedly.
"Thank you," Jenny said sarcastically. "I read over the order form...it looks like they gave me 100."
"There are one hundred baby chicks in my kitchen?" The collection of white, fuzzy creatures hopped along the granite countertop, and subsequently began to climb onto Gibbs's arm.
Jenny covered her mouth with her hand, stifling a laugh.
"I look like the freaking Easter Bunny." Gibbs said without smiling.
"I thought that it'd be fun," Jenny smiled.
"Why do they have to be inside our house?" complained the silver haired fox. Jenny stopped.
"You said our house."
"It is now." Gibbs said. He could see the trace of a smile on the redhead's face.
"You look cute," Jenny said in a baby voice, poking one of the chickens on his shoulder. Gibbs sighed.
"It's spring, Jethro!" Jenny slipped off the counter top. She stepped close to Gibbs, he encircled his arms around her waist, and sighed.
"We can name them..." Jenny grinned mischievously. Gibbs's lips turned up into a small smile. Something fluffy was pecking at his neck, tickling.
"That one's Jenny," he muttered. "Why-"
"It's annoying." Gibbs grinned at her. Jenny wrinkled her nose, and Gibbs couldn't help but notice how cute she looked.
A/N: That was fun. And cute...tell me what you thought! I'm in a oneshot mood. Any ideas?
