This drabble was written for and is dedicated to Lauren and John. I was going to make it a part of a series of drabble like this I plan on writing…but considering this one is much more special, I decided to post it separately.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a British author nor a female rock singer – although the latter does sound quite tempting…the point is, I don't own Alex Rider or the song My Immortal.

My Immortal

He couldn't believe it

Ben Daniela sat on his knees in the wet grass, leaning his forehead against the new, glossy tombstone's front. It didn't look too right, the glass plate set in front of such a darkly carved stone.

He couldn't believe it.

Tears streamed down his pale face, blending in with the rain water that riveted down his cheeks along with them. He opened his eyes once more and looked forward, gazing at the grave in full. In a bizarre way, it looked cheery; almost as if trying to remind him what a happy place in which his love now rested.

He couldn't believe it.

Al could not, simply could not be dead. He wouldn't allow it. It couldn't be. He didn't buy it for a moment.

He couldn't believe it

No.

Another sab wracked his body. Ben Daniels leaned forward once more and pressed his lips against the words gently and elegantly engraved into the stone

Alex Rider,

Beloved boyfriend and dear friend,

Always loved – forever missed – never forgotten.

1995-2012

He couldn't believe it.

This is dedicated to Lauren, who recently lost her boyfriend/best friend of five years to heart issues. I spoke to him a few times, was acquainted with the both of them, and to hear of passing made me very upset…he was such a sweet boy, and seventeen years is not long enough to live. Looking at the bright side, he's in a better place now. But he'll always be missed…and he will never be forgotten.

RIP John

1995-2012

Goodbye John…we love you.
