Rachel ends up dying because she was placed in a bathroom stall with tape covering her mouth and she ends up having an asthma attack. Kurt feels guilty because he saw her backpack in the bathroom and did nothing. Later an angel appears and sends Kurt and someone else back in time to stop Rachel from dying. He picks Quinn because he knows she loves Rachel. While in the past Quinn and Rachel end up getting together.
