Prologue
The ground split and shook violently as the planet split in two. Buildings crumbled and death was granted to those that could not get out of the way fast enough.
Throughout all the chaos several humanoid-looking cat people were making their way onto a large flagship. The group was composed of a lion, a tiger, a panther, a cheetah, a lynx, a Bengal tiger, a puma, an elderly-looking jaguar man, and two young kittens.
The ship took off and everyone breathed a sigh of relief. The tiger man looked out the window, the faintest glimmer of hope in his eyes.
"Tygra," a deep voice said.
The orange humanoid tiger turned to face the blue panther.
"You have to stop thinking about her." He placed a hand on Tygra's shoulder. "We searched every inch of that cave and we didn't find any trace of Melanie. There is just no way she could've survived all the damage the quakes did. You have to face the fact that she's gone-forever."
Tygra sighed and turned around. As he stared into the vast blackness of space he was plagued by visions of his beloved Melanie.
With a sigh he headed to his quarters and fell into a restless sleep.
Third Earth
Three years later
The Thundercats were extremely busy packing the Feliner. The thunderkittens were busy helping Snarf pack up any food that wouldn't perish on the long trip; Tygra was helping Panthro and Lion-O load the thundertank into the remodeled ship, and Cheetara had decided to take one final run before they left Third Earth.
Lynx-O, Pumyra and Bengali were gathering the last of the supplies that would be needed for the journey.
With the defeat of Mumm-Ra and the Lunatacs Third Earth was finally at peace and the Thundercats had decided to explore the galaxy and spread the code of Thunera to any other planets that might need their aid.
The Thundercats completed their packing, said a tearful goodbye to all of their friends on Third Earth and left.
They had no idea what was out there and a certain orange Thundercat could never imagine what fate had planned for him.
