Clint Barton leans on the wall. His breathing was heavy. Sliding down the wall, he held his side that was bleeding uncontrollably. Unable to remember what happened, he winched in pain.

Is this the end? He thought, hoping the answer was not yes.

The bleeding of Clint's side wouldn't stop, it just kept coming out. He winched again and looked up.

Chuckling, he wheezed, "Hah…this can't be the end…"

Just as his were about to shut, he heard a voice.

"Get up, hot shot." The man said.

"Stark…?" Clint asked, opening his eyes.

"The one and only." Stark replied. "Now, are you gonna get your ass up?"

"Heh…I don't think—. " Clint was cut off.

"You're stronger than that, Barton."

"Rogers now…What, am I going insane?"

"No, you just need to get your lazy ass up." Stark butted in.

"Stark." Rogers said, glaring at him.

"What? Is a little boo-boo going to take the big and strong Hawkeye down?"

"Even the smallest wounds can be fatal."

"Doctor Banner now? Yup, I'm going insane."

"No, you aren't. We are just your imagination right now. "

"Then I am insane if you guys are going to be the last things I see."

"Barton…" Rogers says with a sigh.

"You are my friend, so you will not die. " Thor says loudly.

Clint just sighs. His drops and he coughs. I'm going to die insane…

The four men all begin talk to Clint at once. He couldn't make out any of the things they were saying.

Ugh…would you all just go away.

The men were gone when Hawkeye lifted up his head.

Natasha appeared in front of him.

"Clint…you know you can't die."

"Hah, oh, I don't get to decide that."

Natasha places her hand on his cheek. "Clint, you have to stay with me…"

Clint placed his hand on hers, and removed it from his face.

"I'm so sorry…"

Natasha disappeared as a tear came down her face.

Clint coughed again.

I still believe in heroes Hawkeye…and you're one of the, rang in his head.

The familiar voice then said, "They need you. We need you. The world needs you."

"Phil…?" Clint questioned.

Phil appeared just then. There was a sad smile on his face.

"You know…I died believing in heroes. And I still do." Phil says, turning his back on Clint.

"I hope you'll come to realize that with the strength that you have, you can live, Hawkeye."

He then disappears.

"Ha…what strength…?" He asks himself.

The faces of his friends flash before his face. Stark, Rogers, Banner, Thor, Natasha and Phil. They had all been through so much. They shared good and bad times.

Clint would be letting the world down. His friends down. And himself if he died here.

He smirked. Gathering up all of his strength, he stood up and leaned against the wall. Inching forward, he whispered, "So that's the strength…"

Not willing to die, Clint Barton lived.

"Thank you guys…"

The man who was called Hawkeye had changed.

Changed for the better.
