Disclaimer: Don't own Teen Titans
You lie on your bed, tangled in your sheets. Sleep has been evading you for the entire night, and the gentle light of dawn is starting to creep up on the horizon. You wish that everything didn't have to be so complicated, but you're Terra. Of course it has to be complicated. You thought that you and the empath had something in common. Losing control over your powers used to be too easy, but you've gained control over yours now. You don't have to work everyday to keep your powers from exploding. But that doesn't explain why your heart flutters when you see her. It doesn't explain why you feel a pang of guilt every time Beast Boy asks you on a date. It doesn't explain why the dark haired girl fills your thoughts at night and keeps you from sleep. You wonder what it would feel like to have her cold fingers brush your cheek, to have her lips caress your own. You long for the unity you felt as you raised Titan's Tower out of the ocean, working together, as one.
But it's hopeless to pine over the empath. You know that she'll never return this, whatever it is you're feeling. She hates you. She hates the way you don't have to work at keeping your powers under control. She hates the way her friends are drawn to you. The way they all trust you, even though she can tell you're hiding something. You know that she knows what you've done. And because she knows, she'll never even be your friend.
A/N:
Okay, this is my first story, and it's really short. I'm not very good at writing long stories, but I'm trying. I'd appreciate feedback and constructive criticism. Thanks!
