Author's Note: hi, ya'll so this is a short... well i would't even classify this as a short story one shot.

i wrote this a long time ago as a note on my phone and never got around to looking at it again until now. for this dialogue, as i will call it, i wanted imagination to take over, meaning that since there are no set character names, just replace them with your favorites.

personally, i made this a hitsuxhina one because it's only like my favorite anime couple ever.

enjoy!~

"Have you told her yet?"

He immediately looked up, eyes somber. He opened his mouth and only a short breath broke out.

He closed it again.

I read him like a book: no.

I sighed and replied dryly, "For me love is something of the past. It came and lived but it died a long time ago."

The words stung in his eyes.

He looked more like a lone puppy then a man. I turned back to the work I was previously doing shaking my head.

At last I could barely hear him say, "Now's not the time." He choked out those words.

I stopped again. I wanted to shake him full of his senses at that moment. I turned to him and saw an unmoving face.

"What if there's no time left?" I replied. I stopped short for a minute to allow the words to sink in.

He looked down at the floor, head in his hands.

"It will be too late when you tell her now. Something tells me you should have told her a long time ago..."

"6 years ago" he interrupted and looked up.

He looked at me differently this time. This time his eyes were filled with regret, and determination.

I watched his eyes open and close with a new shine in them. I closed my eyes like an old dog watching over the litter. I opened them and nodded.

He got up and moved like a shade gliding across the floor. He silently opened it and closed it then passed seamlessly through the hallways. I turned back to my work as soon as he was out of view.

At last I finally heard from the other room the words "because I love you" pass from his lips.

The silence passed in a few moments to what seems like decades.

Barely audible from the next door I heard "I was waiting for you to tell me that for 6 years..."

A smile grazed my lips afterwards.

read, review, favorite, comment, like, whatever and i will give you a virtual hug 3

thanks!
