I screamed at the top of my lungs in the crowd of people. Mine was the first to be heard, followed by many unceasing others, as four, long haired, boys jumped and goofed about as the made their way onto the stage.
Dressed in all leather, apart from their black t-shirts, they began to set up each of their instruments. The various picking of random notes and chords along with stereo feedback and chatter from the crowd filled the air. Not that you could even call it air anymore. The sight and smell of cigarette smoke hung suffocatingly heavy in the very dimly lit room. The tan-ish, orange, brick walls dripped with condensation as the musty smell of alcohol seeped it's way into my nose. The brick arches made you feel as though you really were in a cave, and as though it may cave-in at any moment. A loud rip of feedback from the speakers made everyone in the crowd jump and a few wails and gasps were welcomed as well. The oldest looking of the bunch on stage stepped up to the microphone on the right side of the stage and tapped on it lightly. As he approached it, the beam of a stage light reflected off of his shaggy hair, revealing that it was not only just brown but more auburn. "Sorry Folks." he grinned. His accent was very strong, though his voice was a bit nasally. I felt my lips form into a small smile as my eyes locked with the auburn-haired boy's on stage.
He seem to be searching for something, a subconscious smirk still plastered to his face, and i searched right back into his, their caramel, coffee color, flickering in the artificial light. I felt as though we'd been staring forever, though in reality it was really only a couple of seconds. "Well, let's get on with it then." He spoke quietly. Even though I hadn't shifted my gaze out of his eyes, I saw the basic movement of another band member. stepping up the the other mic. He went through a few words, but I wasn't listening. Something about, Good evening, we'll be playing such and such songs for you, blah blah blah, but I was a bit preoccupied. The auburn haired boy glanced at me every few seconds but I kept a steady stare, still grinning. I felt as though he was looking through me. I felt like maybe if he wanted to, he could command me with his brain to burst into flames or something. There was a few coughs and noises from the audience. The other band member cleared his throat into the mic and yelled, "one, two, three, FAWH!".
BANG!
I shot up and realized I had kicked my alarm clock off of my nightstand and groaned. "So close."
