(Hello! It is nice to meet you all –bows- I've always wanted to write something, and I've been a fan of One Piece! So here you are! My first time =w= and I hope at least some of you enjoy!) Let's begin the story now!
Chapter 1-Beginning of A Crazy Childhood
"Twenty Seven is finished." A man held out a bundle to another. Two men were in a room that was dimly lit. White stone walls surrounded the area and a lone table was placed in the corner. Faint screams of agony and pain were heard from afar, but the two paid no attention as it was normal.
"Already? I expected it to take longer." The other man took the child into his arms and looked closely, before nodding. "He looks fine, I would say one of the best we've done. What are his abilities?"
"Well-"
"Sir, there's an intruder!" A young man ran up towards the two and bowed politely. "We cannot find him and suspect that he's coming towards the experimentation area. The rest of the guards have searched everywhere else."
"Idiots, what did we train them for?" The man holding the child sighed. "Hurry and find him! I can't afford to lose any test subjects that we worked so hard on, tell the some of the guards to look around in that particular area then." The young man nodded and gave another bow before running off. "Honestly, the higher ups should give us better people."
"Excuse me, but you have something that was supposed to be mine originally." A cloaked figure tapped the man's shoulder. He whipped his head around and a smirk slowly grew across his face.
"So the father finally finds his son, unfortunately for you, it's a bit too late, we already made the modifications." The cloaked figure dug his nails into his palm.
"How dare you steal innocent children and use them just to satisfy your own needs."
"It was partially the parents fault for not keeping a close eye on their children in the first place." The man declared. "If you would like you can have him back, however he will eventually remember what happened, and who he really should obey in this world."
"That will never happen." The cloaked man hissed. "I will make sure of that." With one swift movement, he snatched the child away and held him protectively. The cloaked man looked at the two once more before making a noise of disgust and disappearing.
"The truth will eventually be revealed, Dragon." The man grinned. "Now hurry, we need to report this little incident."
-ooOoo-
"Garp."
"Ah…Dragon, how long has it been?" Garp sighed. "To what do I owe the pleasure of meeting you?" Dragon held the child towards the older man. Garp raised a brow. "A child?"
"…My son."
"Eh? HAHAHAHAHA! It seems you can get a girl after all! HAHAHAHA!" Garp laughed. "I remember the time when many ran away from just your usual expression."
"Be quiet, that's not the point here, what I wanted was for you to take care of him." Dragon had a faint blush upon his cheeks. Garp tilted his head to the side. "As I am a leader of the revolutionary army, I do not have the time to take care of a child, as much as I want to." Dragon frowned as he looked fondly at his child.
"Ah, if they ever found out you were his dad, there would be hefty consequences." Garp sighed. Dragon nodded slowly. "So you came to me and asked for my assistance…Hahahah! Of course I will! But only because you're my son." The corners of Dragon's mouth lifted slightly and he gently handed the child to his father. "So how old is he?"
"Three…I couldn't find him for three years." Dragon grimaced. Garp slightly frowned at that, but shrugged as he held the child close, looking closely at him.
"I won't push into the past, but, you named him at least right?"
"Yes, to be precise my wife named him." The cloaked man gave a fond smile. "His name is Luffy, Monkey D. Luffy, but there are some things that I want you to take caution of."
"Yeah! I already know, don't tell anyone about his father." Garp grinned and Dragon shook his head.
"Yes, that is one, but there's another." The younger of the two walked up and brushed the white cloth away from Luffy's head. "As you can see, modifications have been made to his body without my permission." Garp touched the boy's head with such gentleness that Dragon didn't know he had. Two fuzzy black kitten ears stuck out and twitched slightly as Garp caressed it.
"I can't believe they still do this…" he whispered, "… I'll try and do something about it."
"I'll leave it to you." Dragon sighed and gently stroked Luffy's head. "Goodbye, Luffy."
"You can count on me."
-ooOoo-
"MAKINO!" A young boy ran towards a woman in a bar. She was cleaning a cup and smiled as she saw the boy enter.
"What's the matter Luffy?"
"Quick! Hide me from gramps!" He pleaded and Makino nodded as she urged the boy to go behind her. Right then, Garp walked into the bar.
"Good morning Makino, have you seen Luffy anywhere by any chance?" He asked. Makino shook her head and continued to clean the glass.
"No, I haven't seen him at all today. Is there something he needs to do?"
"Yeah, I was going to have him train in the jungle again, but he ran away the second I told him that." Garp scratched his head. "He's getting better at running." Makino sighed and gently set the glass cup down.
"Garp, go more easy on the poor boy, he's been giving me these frightened looks whenever I mention you." She put her hands on her hips while giving a stern look. Garp chuckled nervously and rubbed the back of his head with one hand.
"Well I can't exactly do that as he has to become a strong marine one day!" Garp declared. "He needs the training, anyways thank you for your time…now where is that brat?" Luffy tugged at Makino's apron lightly and the green haired woman looked down with a smile.
"Is he gone?" He whispered and she nodded. Luffy gave a sigh of relief and heaved himself up on one of the chairs. "Thanks!"
"Honestly, I wonder if he'll ever go easy on you, it hurts to see you walk in with bruises and cuts all the time." Makino mumbled. Luffy quickly shook his head and made a face.
"Gramps never goes easy, he doesn't even hold back his punches!" Luffy took off a white hat that was atop his head and set his ears free. "That feels better!" Makino giggled and gently caressed Luffy's messy hair.
"You always look cute like that." She complemented. Luffy pouted and his ears flattened.
"It's not cute!" He protested. "I should look manly and cool!" As if to try and prove his point Luffy stood straight and crossed his arms with a frown. Makino laughed at his attempt to look serious. His tail swung around behind him in anger and frustration as Luffy pouted again. "What's so funny?" Makino only shook her head and smiled gently. She poured a glass of milk while handing it to Luffy, which the child took it gratefully.
"After this I'll give you dinner and a bath." Makino said. Luffy looked absolutely devastated when she mentioned the word "bath".
"But Makino!" He whined. "You know I hate baths!" The said woman only tapped Luffy lightly on the head.
"It's necessary, you always come in dirty and that's not good." She scolded. "Plus, it's not like I give it to you every single day, it's only once a week." Luffy pouted and stubbornly shook his head. "I'll give you extra fish today if you be good."
"Really?! Okay! I'll take a bath then!" Luffy cried out eagerly. "I get the fish right?!" Makino laughed, tempting him with his favorite never failed. She nodded and Luffy beamed. He then finished the glass and waited patiently for dinner which arrived to him a few minutes later. Luffy wasted no time at shoving the food down his throat, sometimes remembering to savor the cooked meat, but wanted to get something down into his stomach quickly. Makino watched him, smiling, as he ate his meal. Once finished, like he promised, Luffy went towards the bath reluctantly and let Makino wash him thoroughly.
"Goodnight Luffy." Makino smiled as the boy rubbed his eyes tiredly.
"Goodnight Makino…" Luffy yawned and crawled into his bed in the guest room upstairs. He curled up into a ball and closed his eyes. Makino carefully pulled a blanket over him and kissed him gently on the forehead. She raised her head quickly at the mention of one word.
"PIRATES!"
Luffy awoke to loud noises coming from downstairs. His ears flattened quickly against the sides of his head to attempt to block out the noise. He rubbed his eyes while giving a yawn, showing small sharp teeth, two on top and two on the bottom. His tail swished from side to side and the boy tiredly went downstairs, forgetting to put on his usual hat to cover his ears.
"Makino, it's so loud." He whined. "What's going on?"
"Ah, Luffy, some people are inside the bar today and they're very kind, but apparently very loud." She laughed. "Where's your hat?" Luffy's ears perked up at that and he touched his head.
"I don't know." He stuck his tongue out. "But can I have breakfast?"
"Of course, can you wait upstairs for me?" Makino smiled. She looked behind her to check that the people were occupied and tried to gently nudge Luffy upstairs.
"But I'm already awake." Luffy tilted his head in confusion. "I don't need to sleep again."
"Makino! Is something wrong over there?" A man raised a hand. "Ah! I didn't know you had a child." He laughed and Makino quickly covered his ears with her hands as she revealed him.
"N-no that's not it, I'm just taking care of him for someone." She said with a worried smile.
"Who's this old man?" Luffy asked. The people in the bar began to laugh and the red haired man pouted.
"I'm not old!"
"Hahahaha! Sure captain! Of course you aren't!" One said. The man had a blush and sulked as he was laughed at.
"Sheesh kid, way to ruin my fun." He said. Luffy paid no attention and walked towards the man with curiosity. Makino was forced to let go of her hands as his ears were revealed to the jolly group. "Why are you wearing those ears?"
"Ears? Oh you mean these?" Luffy touched the cat ears and the man nodded. "I don't know, gramps always told me that I was born with it."
"Eh?! So it's real?!" The man exclaimed as he tugged at one of them. Luffy's tail bristled and he bit the man's arm. "Ow, ow, ow! Sorry kid! Didn't know they were that sensitive!" Luffy let go and the man blew on the teeth marks. "You even have sharp teeth."
"Humph, that's what you get old man!" Luffy stuck his tongue out. Makino walked over and poked the boy's head softly.
"Manners Luffy, manners." She scolded and Luffy pouted before giving in to her stern look and looking towards the man with a pout.
"HAHAHAHA! Beaten by a kid eh? Captain!" A man laughed. The others joined him soon after Shanks gave a small glare.
"My name is Luffy, nice to meet you." He mumbled. "Sorry for biting you."
"Wow Makino you sure know how to tame a child." The man laughed. "It's fine, it doesn't hurt anymore, my name is Shanks, a pleasure to meet you Luffy. This is my crew!" The people in the bar cheered and everything became even more lively. "But still, I can't believe that you have ears and a tail at that! I guess this world still has surprises."
"Crew? So you're pirates?!" Luffy exclaimed.
"Yeah, that's right." Shanks grinned.
"A-AWESOME!" Luffy yelled as his eyes sparkled. "Hey! Can you tell me some of your adventures Shanks?"
"You warm up to people fast don't you Luffy?" Shanks laughed. "But still sure let me tell you about the time where we landed upon this one island that supposedly contained a whole lot of treasure!"
"Okay!" Luffy said as he listened eagerly. Makino laughed as the two talked like they were old friends.
"Hahaha! Captain you sure get along well with the kid!" A man laughed as he bit into meat. The other men in the room agreed.
"Oh shut up guys." Shanks laughed. "It's hard to say no to him." Luffy blinked, his owlish eyes staring up at Shanks in confusion. "Don't worry about what I said let me tell you more!"
"Really?! What's next Shanks?!" Luffy asked, bouncing in his seat. Shanks laughed and began to eagerly tell the boy more of his adventures. The talk continued until the sun began to set and the whole crew was wasted from all the sake.
"Oh boy, Makino, we may have to stay a little while longer." Shanks laughed. Luffy cheered and leaped onto Shanks's lap.
"So? What happened with Whitebeard Shanks?" The boy asked eagerly.
"Ah well, he conquered Fishman Island, claiming it as his own and driving out all the bad kind of pirates away." Shanks said. "He's a great man and a great father."
"Cool…I wonder if I'll meet him one day." Luffy grinned and Shanks stuck his tongue out.
"A brat like you will never meet someone as great as him!"
"YES I WILL!" Luffy yelled, ears behind his head. "I'm going to become a pirate someday too!"
"In your dreams kid!" Shanks laughed and Luffy hissed, trying to claw at Shanks in which the man just dodged, still laughing. After a while Luffy gave up and leaned against Shanks's chest.
"Ne, Shanks…" Luffy said and Shanks hummed. "…what's the difference between good and bad pirates?"
"Hmmm, I would say bad ones just want treasure or power and would do many dark things to achieve it. While good pirates want adventure and freedom." Shanks said. This time Luffy hummed.
"I see…then I'll be the good pirate!" Luffy said with a smile and Shanks ruffled his hair.
"Hahaha! If you ever make it out to sea." The man said and Luffy puffed out his cheeks.
"I will!" He declared. Shanks laughed and set Luffy down before standing up to wake his crew to go back to their ship.
"We'll be back tomorrow!" The straw hated man said with a grin and waved before walking out of the bar with his still drunk crew. "See ya later Luffy!"
"Bye Shanks!" Luffy smiled and waved both arms.
"Seriously! I've been training myself so my punch is now as strong as a pistol!" Luffy protested and Shanks gave a sigh while chewing on a fork.
"Oh, that's so cool." He said sarcastically.
"WHAT'S WITH THAT TONE?!" Luffy yelled as he scratched Shanks's face.
"OWWW!" Shanks cried out holding his cheek. "What was that for?!"
"Mocking me!" Luffy crossed his arms and stuck his tongue out. "That's what you get dumb Shanks."
"Sorry, sorry, here have a fish." Shanks smiled as he held out a cooked mackerel. Luffy immediately took it and began to eat, all bad thoughts gone. "Jeez your mood changes so quickly whenever someone offers you some kind of meat, especially fish."
"It's my favorite!" Luffy pouted. "Plus gramps told me never to waste food, even nasty veggies." The boy stuck his tongue out at the thought of the bitter taste and quickly popped the rest of the fish into his mouth before noticing a small wooden chest nearby. Curious, Luffy went to opening the chest as Shanks ordered another drink. The bar doors slammed open as bandits began to enter. Silence fell upon the whole room as the leader walked forth and placed a hand on the serving table.
"Rest assured, I'm not here to kill you all, but I do want some sake." He sneered. "Let's say about ten barrels."
"Um, sorry, but we ran out of stock on sake." Makino said, putting on a fake smile. Shanks placed a white cap on Luffy's head, not noticing the boy eating something.
"Oh? Then what are these pirates drinking?" The bandit jerked his head towards the men in the room. Before Makino replied, Shanks held up a bottle in front of the bandit.
"Sorry, it appears we drank it all." He gave a smile. "You can take this though, I haven't opened it yet, so it should be good." The bandit's eye twitched and he raised a hand only to break the bottle and spill the drink all over Shanks. The leader's underlings snickered from behind. Luffy finished eating the horrible tasting fruit and stared at Shanks in shock.
"Don't you know who I am?" The bandit gave a menacing look. "I'm Higuma and I've a bounty on my head for killing, another kill won't be so bad." Higuma drew his blade and held it at Shanks who didn't react to it, instead he sighed.
"Ahh, sorry Makino, can you give me a mop to clean this up?" Shanks apologized as he picked up the broken glass. Higuma's eye twitched as he raised his sword and cut the wood next to Shanks.
"It appears you enjoy cleaning, how about I give you more stuff to clean?" He grinned and Luffy bristled as Higuma began to leave with his group. "Bye bye, chickens." The bar was oddly quiet before everyone burst out laughing.
"HAHAHAHA! He got you good captain!" Someone yelled, clutching his stomach.
"Yeah! Was spot on!"
"GAHAHAHA!" Shanks laughed along. "Oh shut it guys you're all so mean to me!"
"WHAT THE HELL SHANKS?!" Luffy stood up on his seat. "WHY DIDN'T YOU FIGHT BACK?! THEY CLEARLY MOCKED YOU AND THREATENED YOU!"
"Calm down Luffy, it's just sake, nothing harmful done." Shanks attempted to calm the boy only to be hissed at.
"I ACTUALLY LOOKED UP TO YOU!" Luffy yelled before running out the bar. Shanks frowned and lowered his head.
"Aa, now I'm hated by Luffy!" Shanks whined. "What should I do?!"
"Well, he's a child, he'll soon get over it Shanks." A man said as he lit a cigarette. Shanks sighed and reluctantly nodded.
"Wait, what happened to the devil fruit we got?" Silence reigned over the bar.
"EHHHHHHHHH?!"
Luffy walked into the forest, hands in pockets, his face adorning a scowl. 'Dumb Shanks, I can't believe I thought he was a great man.' He kicked a stone and sighed as he lay on the grass. 'But then again those bandits are also the bad ones! They mocked Shanks and his crew! AGH!' A bird chirped and dropped down next to Luffy, tilting his head he hopped up and pecked at the boy's cheeks. "Hello birdie." Luffy greeted as he reached out a hand to stroke the bird's feathers. The bird tweeted in greeting and flapped his wings. "I see, so you lost your child? Let me help you!" Luffy grinned and the bird chirped in happiness as he did a small somersault in the air. "Shishishi, let's go Mr. Bird!" After an hour of searching, Luffy had found the baby bird lying under some leaves in a weakened state. He quickly brought the child back to its nest and gently put her back. The father gave his gratitude by handing Luffy some berries that he had picked. "Thank you!" The father bird tweeted and tended to his daughter while giving a small bow to Luffy. The boy blinked and thought of Shanks and Makino. "I wonder if they're doing fine." He mumbled before running back to the village.
"Makino!" Luffy yelled, rushing into the bar. "Where'd Shanks go?"
"Ah, he went to go buy supplies for his next journey." Makino smiled as the boy climbed up onto the chair.
"Oh…" Luffy's ears drooped, disappointed, the boy began to fidget. "Is Shanks mad at me?"
"No, in fact he was worried that you were angry at him." Makino said as she stroked the raven hair. "I'm sure he did what he did for a reason."
"Yeah…" Luffy agreed. He leaned against the bar table and huffed.
"Ah, Luffy, make sure to wear your hat." Makino said gently as she put on the white cap on his head. "You never know when someone will walk in."
"But what's so wrong with it Makino? I think it's pretty cool." Luffy said as he pouted.
"Well it's rare Luffy, people might sell you off to bad guys."
"But I'm strong! So I can beat up the bad guys!" Luffy puffed out his chest. Makino laughed and patted his head.
"Yes you are, but it's just a precaution Luffy." The two continued to chat until the bandits from earlier entered the bar.
"Hm, it seems the cowards finally left." Higuma gave a nasty grin as he sat down on a table, resting his feet on it. "Well? Hurry and serve us!"
"Ah, yes! Of course!" Makino said as she served out the food and drinks. Luffy sent occasional glares at the bandits as they drank and soon his pent up rage was released by one bandit's comment on Shanks.
"TAKE THAT BACK YOU BASTARDS!" Luffy yelled at the top of his lungs. "SHANKS IS A GREAT MAN! YOU LOWLY APES HAVE NO RIGHT TO TALK ABOUT SHANKS LIKE THAT!"
"What was that, brat?" Higuma growled and threw Luffy outside, the boy landing with a hard thud. "Me and my friends here were just trying to drink and have a good time, yet you ruined all the fun, what's the deal?"
"YOU INSULTED SHANKS ASSHOLE! TAKE IT BACK!" Luffy yelled, quickly standing back up and Higuma made a mock thoughtful look.
"Hmm, how about, no?" He sneered and Luffy charged forward with a fist raised only to be knocked back onto the floor, a foot placing itself on his cheek to keep him down.
"Luffy!" Makino yelled as she ran outside. "Please let him go! He didn't mean it!"
"No, he insulted us, might as well sell him off, he might fetch a hefty price." Luffy felt disgusted and squirmed under the foot that was holding him in place.
"YOU SHOULD DIE STINKY MOUNTAIN APE!" He yelled and Higuma twitched, drawing out his sword and raised it, preparing to cut the boy's head off.
"I was wondering where everyone went." Shanks interrupted, holding Higuma's hand in an iron grip causing the bandit to lose his hold on the sword. "Hahaha! Luffy! I thought your punch was as strong as a pistol!"
"Now's not the time for mockery Shanks!" Luffy yelled, pissed off at the pirate captain, but also relieved.
"Huh? Aren't you the cowards from earlier?" Higuma raised a brow and jerked his hand away. "This should be easy, men get them!" However no footsteps were heard as Shanks's crew wiped them out.
"Listen clear and listen well, you can spill drinks on me, you can even spit on me and I'll just laugh it off." Shanks said with a deadly glare. "However, no one hurts a friend of mine and gets away with it."
"Oh really? Then let me be the first to escape." Higuma said as he dropped a smoke bomb and grabbed Luffy.
"OH CRAP! HE TOOK LUFFY!"
"They would never expect a mountain bandit out in the sea." Higuma grinned and kicked Luffy into the sea. "Well I have no more use for you, so bye kid." Luffy pulled out a string of colorful words from his mouth as he fell into the sea. He tried to swim, only to find out that his body felt heavy, heavier than before and he began to sink.
"Someone! H-help me!" He cried in fear. A sea king finished off Higuma with one bite from behind and turned his attention on Luffy, opening his mouth wide for the second kill. Unfortunately he only got a piece of human flesh.
"Back off before you regret it." Shanks said in a low voice. The sea king stopped in his tracks and slowly backed away before swimming off. "Hey Luffy, you alright bud?"
"S-Shanks…I was scared, b-but your…" Luffy sniffled as he clutched the white shirt. "…YOUR ARM!" Indeed, Shanks's left arm was torn off clean and a bloody stump was left in its place.
"It's alright, it's only an arm." Shanks gave a reassuring smile, but Luffy only broke down more as his cries grew louder.
"S-sorry! SORRY!" He wailed. Shanks squeezed Luffy into a hug and swam back to shore.
"I WILL BECOME PIRATE KING!" Luffy declared as Shanks and his crew departed for the final time. "I PROMISE THAT I WILL FIND A CREW BETTER THAN YOURS AND FIND THE ONE PIECE!"
"You promise?" Shanks asked and Luffy nodded determinedly. "Then…" Shanks placed his treasured straw hat on Luffy's head. "…take care of this for me, as a sign of our promise." Luffy's eyes widened and he clutched the hat, knowing how important it was to Shanks.
"Don't you dare touch this hat again! Understand?!"
Luffy began to cry, but held in his voice as he nodded. Shanks smiled and headed towards the ship.
"Let us meet again Luffy, as pirates."
"BUT I DON'T WANNA!" Luffy yelled as he was being pulled along by two were currently inside of a jungle. "Gramps! I want to stay at the village!"
"Luffy, this is all for your sake alright?" Garp sighed as the child hung onto a tree for his dear life. "Come along now, we can't waste anymore time, I'm sure my grandsons are waiting." Unknowingly to the two they were being followed by two teens from afar.
"Ace are you sure this is alright?" One whispered as his blue eyes blinked.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure Sabo, but what's that gramps is carrying?" Ace squinted, trying to get a better look. "It looks like a child."
"Don't tell me that's his grandson that he was talking about the other day." Sabo paled. "Which means the responsibility will most likely be put in our hands from Dadan." Ace also paled.
"Oh great." He muttered darkly. Luffy's grip and Garp's sheer strength uprooted the tree and the trunk hit Garp's head, splitting the tree in half as Luffy stubbornly clung to the bottom half.
"That's what you deserve Gramps!"
"HEY! THAT HURT YOU BRAT!" Ace and Sabo snickered at the sight.
"Or maybe he won't be that bad after all." Sabo grinned. "What do you think Ace?"
"I'm not sure…what if he's a pain in the ass?" Ace scratched his head. "Well we'll see." The two teens trailed after the other two and arrived at a wooden hut.
"EHHHH ANOTHER ONE?!" Ace and Sabo recognized the voice as Dadan, the mountain bandit that had raised the two. "Two is already enough for us! Another brat to take in is too much!"
"Yeah right, you left us to fend off for ourselves." Ace muttered and Sabo placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Now, now, you know she cares for us, she just shows it a different way." The blonde smiled and watched the scene before them. In the end Garp blackmai-"convinced" Dadan to take care of Luffy. After the old marine had left, Dadan immediately called upon Ace and Sabo.
"I know you two are her somewhere, get down now!" She yelled and the two jumped down from the trees. "Here!" Luffy was suddenly shoved into Ace's arms and owlish eyes blinked up at Ace.
"Yo! My name is Luffy!" Luffy greeted.
"Luffy, meet Ace and Sabo, they will be your caretakers." Dadan introduced and Ace head butted Dadan on the forehead.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF HIM?!" Ace yelled. "GARP GAVE YOU THAT RESPONSIBILITY!"
"WELL GUESS WHO RAISED YOU SINCE YOU WERE FIVE!" Dadan shot back. "AT LEAST CUT ME AND THE BANDITS SOME SLACK!" Luffy yawned at the exchange and flattened his ears that were hidden by the straw hat Shanks had given him.
"Hey! Quit arguing! Luffy's right between you and you might be putting a lot of strain on his ears!" Sabo snapped and the two paused, looking at Luffy who in return blinked.
"Is there food around here? I'm hungry." He whined. Dadan fell to the floor at those words.
"Yeah, let's go hunt Luffy, that's how we get food here." Sabo smiled gently and guided the boy into the forest.
"Really?! Finally! I get to hunt on my own!" Luffy grinned as he eagerly ran inside.
"Ah! Wait Luffy!" Sabo yelled as he ran after the boy and found that Luffy was decently fast. Soon Sabo caught up and caught the boy with two hands. "Got you! Sneaky little brother! Take my tickle attack for being bad!" Sabo began to tickle the small boy who was rolling around in laughter.
"N-NOOOOOO! S-SABO IT TICKLES! AHAHAHAHAHA!" Luffy laughed and Sabo gave a fake evil smile.
"So now you won't run off anymore right?"
"No! Don't tickle me!" Luffy pouted and his attention immediately turned onto a blue butterfly that fluttered by. "Mr. Butterfly!" He cheered and attempted to jump on the insect only to fall on his face. Sabo chuckled at his antics and lifted the boy up.
"Be more careful, you're already a handful on the first day." Sabo sighed.
"It's okay, it doesn't hurt!" Luffy giggled and clinged to Sabo's leg. "Nice to meet you Sabo!"
"And nice to meet you as well Luffy." Sabo smiled.
"But where am I? I don't see my village or Makino." Luffy frowned as he looked around the jungle. Sabo wondered who Makino was, but didn't question it yet, he had enough time to learn about the boy.
"Well right now you're in the jungle of Goa Kingdom and also near our home." Sabo sat down and Luffy settled himself on his lap. "I'm not sure where you came from, but it appears I and Ace have to now take care of you, so let's get along okay?"
"I don't mind having brothers!" Luffy said excitedly. "I've always wanted brothers anyways, I'm always alone most of the time."
"Alone?" Sabo frowned. Even though he just met the boy, he couldn't help feeling a little attatched already, Luffy had some sort of ability to draw people to him naturally.
"Yeah...because there weren't that many children my age, and even if there were they were too young, so I spent most of my time with Shanks, Makino and the animals nearby!" Luffy smiled at the memories.
"Ah, that's good to hear." Sabo smiled warmly and placed Luffy on his shoulders to which the boy cried out with delight. "Well let me show you our treehouse okay? Because that's where you're going to live from now on."
"Okay!" Luffy grinned and clinged onto Sabo's hat. After a few minutes of walking the two arrived at a fairly large sized tree and built on it's branches was a treehouse that Sabo had spoken of.
"ACE! YOU THERE?!" Sabo hollered. A rope dropped down in reply and Sabo climbed his way up. "Look, I brought our new brother."
"WHAT?!" Ace yelled. "I don't want anything to do with him, he's only going to be a pain."
"No I'm not!" Luffy hissed.
"Ace be nice." Sabo scolded. "He's going to be here whether we like it or not." Luffy stuck his tongue out at Ace.
"Sabo-nii, he's mean!" Luffy whined.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!"
"Ace!" Sabo glared lightly. "Be. Nice." Ace pouted and gave a huff before turning around childishly. "And...Nii?"
"Yeah! You said you were my brother so now I'm going to call you Sabo-nii!" Luffy cheered.
"Then who's Ace?" Sabo smiled darkly. "He's also your brother."
"Nooo, he's mean." Luffy pouted. "He called me a pain." Ace slightly twitched from that and Sabo snickered.
"Well Ace is your big brother too okay? Be nice to him for me." Sabo said softly and Luffy made a thoughtful expression for a split second before grinning and giving a nod.
"Okay if Sabo-nii says so then I will be nice to Ace-nii!"
"And Ace you be nice to Luffy too alright?"
"...Fine." Ace muttered. Sabo could already tell this would quite difficult to get Ace to warm up to Luffy, but maybe it might be a little sooner than he expects. Sabo smiled to himself as he watched Luffy try to make Ace talk to him and then he instantly knew that Ace would warm up pretty fast. Life just got more interesting for Sabo.
Thanks for reading!
This was my first writing thing? I have no idea whether I did a good job or not, so I would appreciate some pointers no matter how harsh they are? I'm a newbie after all and I hope this story has at least killed some of your boredom or grabbed your attention. (In my dreams =w=) But again hope you enjoyed, I may or may not continue this, but I probably will since this was pretty enjoyable.
(RAAAAAAAAAAAAAWR This chapter was rewritten for various reasons that I will not state XD) Okay so this story and the other will be on like...hiatus, not too much but like a few weeks because of school. Just sayin.
