The group that strode through the cafeteria doors were cool. Wait. I don't mean cool; I mean awesome. Epic. Like four celebrities casually out for the day in their designer finest.

A Goth girl, a chic nerd, a blonde hottie and a grunge skater boy.

Now here's a significant titbit: grunge is a turn-on for me. Grunge is hot in my opinion. Hence the reason for my drooling over this lean machine. With golden skin and chocolate coloured hair casually mussed up and sticking up about the place, this guy was viciously grabbing my attention.

I turned to my friend April, who was rating girls out of ten with her boyfriend. A seriously weird game they had but kept them entertained. "April? What's up with the new kids?"

She turned towards me, ready to share her latest gossip. "I heard from Jay that they've moved here from Texas…something about being in a bad crowd…but anyway they're here now and staying in some kind of hostel." She shrugged and turned her attention back to the degrading game. That was the beauty of April's gossip: short and sweet and with total disinterest.

Looking back at the newbie group I noticed they sat apart from everyone else, laughing together at some inside joke, I imagined.
