A/N: Upon looking back at the story after about a year of loitering around, I realized I really needed to clean up a few things, mainly explanations and dialogue between characters. So here's the First Prologue Revised! I'm going to do the same thing with all the chapters I've posted so far and hope to keep up a similar quality with future chapters.
Disclaimer: I don't own Pokémon or any canon characters. I only own the idea of this story and any OCs.
There was nothing at all in the vast region of space between worlds. With a shudder, the very fabric of the dimension burst apart at the seams. Within a matter of moments, a regal shape approached the hazy distortion of reality, tall and elegant with golden spines arching upward and around its lithe body. Its eyes sparkled with the knowledge from ages long past from human memory.
The creature fully emerged into the void and gazed around. Nothing much has changed. It is just as I remembered it to be. At last, the creature could be rid of its cautious stance and so it relaxed, confident and calm not that it was back on its home turf. This journey has been so long, much longer than I had hoped it would be. Now it is time for their summoning.
The creature created a large sphere of roiling energy and sent it crashing through the tear in the fabric of reality. Come forth, my three children. Time, Space and Antimatter, Arceus requires your presence.
There was a faint rumbling as the summoning took effect. Soon the unusual dimension began to ripple with pure energy waves. They undulated like the waves of the ocean, sometimes bouncing back and forth and off of each other. The surface of the dimension wavered as matter formed a whirlpool on the surface, churning with primal power.
Three beings of immense power emerged from the depths of the whirlpool's shadows. Their names were scattered across the entire universe, and naturally there was not even one living being who was unaware of their names. The legendary beings approached the one who had summoned them to its side. None of them were pleased to be there; they had things much more important than a silly little meeting.
The Distortion World is changing again. There are clouds of toxic smoke everywhere. I must go back to maintain order and balance and to make sure nothing else goes wrong! The gray creature was clearly angered, not only by the summoning but also the state of the world which it governed over. Those clouds would not appear unless there was a serious shift in balance in the Real World.
And my territory is off as well. It keeps bumping into the sphere of Space. The blue creature's head swiveled over to the remaining being and gave it a hard questioning stare.
It is much more likely that my territory is being invaded by yours! The purple creature in question roared in defiance and rammed its shoulder as hard as it could into its challenger. It was not about to give up control of its territory because of its counterpart.
My world is being disrupted by the disturbances within your territories. I blame the both of you for this upset! The gray and black being aimed its Shadow Force at the Spatial and Temporal Pokémon. Once the powerful attack hit, the other two charged the Renegade Pokémon, and the Creation Trio began a fight of epic proportions.
Arceus was not at all amused by the Trio's childish behaviour. It had expected much better than what was unfolding in front of its eyes. A growl built up in its throat as it prepared to use its most powerful attack in order to drive the quarrelling beasts into submission. From its open maw, a single comet-like stone raced upwards, splitting into many smaller stones which became coated in a pale blue fire. Judgement rained from high above and pelted the Creation Trio hard. Stopping all of their own attacks, they writhed in pain and immediately ceased the fighting. However, they still glared at each other, silently cursing the others for bringing along this pain and suffering.
Father, why must you punish all of us? Palkia whined in annoyance. Dialga deserved it.
You deserved it more! Dialga screeched, and it reared its neck back, threatening to use its Roar of Time again.
Fools! Cease this fighting at once. You know better than to blame one another on something that is neither your fault nor those of the others. Arceus' tone disapproved of its offspring's actions and also served as a warning. To continue the fight would only result in serious repercussions for the offender.
Giratina was the first to calm down. Father, what is it that you have summoned us for?
As I was going to say before you started your foolish bickering, the Earth is changing again. Arceus flew back and forth in front of the Pokémon lined up before of him. It was very agitated by the words it spoke. There is a human who wants to rule the world.
Why am I not surprised? Dialga muttered bitterly. It happened so many times before, why would it be any different this time around? It was always the fault of a human, never a Pokémon. Now that you have spoken of this issue, may the three of us leave?
No! Arceus roared. The dimension pulsed with the Alpha Pokémon's emotions. The Creation Trio cringed, knowing full well what their Creator could do to them in a heartbeat if it chose to do so. You cannot leave yet. I am not finished. This human wants to control all Pokémon, all humans, everything that exists on the Earth. He is quite insane with visions of power. But to accomplish all of that, he needs the help of a select few humans who still hold onto the power of old.
But aren't humans like those rare nowadays? The Creation Trio asked this question together, their powerful influence spreading through the dimension.
They are, Arceus agreed. But those kinds of humans still exist, and merely from that, the human's visions can come to fruition. We must find a way to stop him at all costs; lest the natural order of the universe dissolve into chaos.
Can we not do anything to stop him? Now that the gravity of the matter had been shed light upon, Giratina very much wanted to help the humans and Pokémon living on Earth. It still recalled an instance of when a young boy had saved its life, and would remain forever grateful to the boy for doing so, as well as the Pokémon who had aided the boy in saving it.
There is hope still. Arceus stopped pacing and looked each of his children in the eye. There is one human alone who has the power to stop him. However, I do not know whether or not that human can achieve this, particularly as Time is running short. There is only so much that we Legends can do to slow down the passing of this event, but when we cannot hold on anymore, we must be ready. As does she. There is much to be done and too little time to do it. We can only hope that fate and destiny will be kind enough to guide her through her journey.
AN: So that's the prologue. What do you think? Tell me in the reviews if there could be an improvement or if you think it's generally awesome all around. Everyone who does gets a virtual (::)
Why is it so short? This is the first prologue. Yes, there will be two of them. It's not unheard of, just a bit unusual. But I like unusual and unique, so bring it on!
Notes/Questions to Consider:
1. Who is this mysterious man who wants to have powers like Arceus?
2. What could an Aura User give to a man like him? What powers do they have that can assist the man on his quest for power?
And of course, please review if you like it, or have an idea you want me incorporate, or if you have constructive criticism!
Signing out,
