"We need to be patient with her, it will take time for her to accept what has happened" Tenzin said, leaving Mako to his thoughts.
'She's not alone, why can't she see that we're all here for her, that I'M here for her…' Mako thought to himself. 'Why can't you just act rational for once, always acting to impulsive. You don't think ahead and just jump into-' Mako went into panic mode at his sudden realization. 'She wouldn't, would she? She can't. NO!' And he took off, after her, running as fast as he could. He was desperate, the wind didn't blow away Naga's tracks, but why did Naga have to run so much faster than him. Despite their head start, Mako wasn't going to give up until he was sure.
He ran as fast as he could in the biting cold. Regardless of the temperature, Mako was starting to sweat. He could see Naga and Korra by the edge of the cliff, she was standing by the edge. "NO!" he screamed, but he was too far for her to hear. Out of nowhere, Korra's body was slowly lifting up into the air, like she was levitating. As he got closer, sweating even more, he could see that she was … bending air. Suddenly, an enormous gust of wind collided with his body, chilling him to the bone. Sweat and wind froze him in place. As fast as the wind came, it left. Mako instantly felt warmer, but the heat was getting stronger, for a wave of fire was also headed towards him. He easily redirected the fire's path so it would not touch him. 'Fire? where did…' And that's when he knew.
Korra, his beautiful Korra, was in the Avatar State. Columns of ice radiated from Korra. Then, as she lifted her arms, a tsunami like wave crashed into the cliffside. Mako was in awe. He never saw Korra bend with saw raw power, wielding them like a true avatar. Slowly, Korra's feet touched down back to earth. As if she sensed him, Korra turned around. Seeing her face, Mako smiled and headed towards Korra. She began running towards him, the very Korra that he recognized. He gracefully embraced Korra, spun her around, and set her back on her feet. He was so happy that she was okay, that she was still here, that she was still Korra.
She spoke the words of not the avatar, but of Korra. "I love you, too" she whispered, sending Mako's heart high into the sky.
