Beautiful. Stunning. Finn Hudson stood breathless and immobile before his blushing brunette bride-to-be. No one could say Finn had walked his 'delegated' path thus far in life, but he was pretty damn satisfied with the result.
Finn knew that there were vast multitudes of jealous people who begrudges his 'throwing away' the seemingly perfect hand he had been dealt in life. The Royal Flush of Life as Quinn had once labeled it.
True. Finn could have been a small town superstar. A Local Lima Legend. His quarterback status on his high school's football team guaranteed him a full ride sports scholarship to a class C or D school and his 'inevitable' marriage to Madame Cheerio Hero herself Quinn Fabray would have ensured Finn a perfectly adequate lifestyle in which all of Lima would play Keeping Up with the Hudsons.
But Finn didn't want that. Nothing about that 'perfect life' would ever dare hold a candle to his confusing, up and down, on and off relationship with Finn's utmost cherished valuable: the demanding, high maitenance, and slightly off-putting but always kind, compassionate, living, and feeling Rachel Berry.
And now here Finn stood, still breath-taken at the altar before his Regal Rachel, brimming with gratitude he had been given even a second of her company. This marriage contract was guaranteed to be nothing like Finn's hypothetical one with Quinn - he wouldn't stay in Lima, he would have to support Rachel and her wild, headstrong, daring New York dreams. He would have to love a life of frightening unpredictability and a terrorizing prospect of long term struggle and rejection.
And he would give his life for every moment of it. Every struggle, hardship, and argument were more than made up for by every assured soft touch, intimate whisper, and longing connection by eyes and body.
He loved Rachel. He would take a bullet for Rachel. And now here he stood, about to make his wildest dreams come true.
Finn agreed, he had been dealt the perfect hand in life. Only, as it turned out, he had to take a chance on on more "hit me" to score his perfect 21.
The minister stopped speaking and all eyes flashed instantaneously, expectantly to Finn.
"I do." The only words he need speak.
Rachel followed suit, and the world disappeared as Finn kissed Rachel to kick off the start of his perfect forever.
Finn had been dealt the perfect hand when the dealer hit him with his Ace. Finn's wildest dreams came true the instant he laid eyes on his beloved wife Rachel Berry.
