Hi everybody! This is just a small part of a larger story idea I have for this uncommon pairing. Just a little snapshot basically.

Our Code

"You are such a little freak." I sneered the words at her. She didn't react. Not to me, or to the other Slytherin girls snickering at her. She just kept leafing through her magazine and humming. I was still nervous about our understanding. That she might feel hurt even though we spent all of last night working it out.

I tried again. "I hate freaks like you." Still no reaction so I moved closer. "I hate you so much." What was she doing? This wasn't the plan. I was feeling sick suddenly. Even with all the girls around us, tittering and smirking, I felt like telling her I was joking. Asking her to forgive me.

Searching for a reaction I grabbed her shoulder. "Oy! Parkinson! What are you doing?" It was the Weasley girl. "Nothing that concerns you!" I snapped. My face felt hot. I actually felt somewhat ashamed. Ginny strode over and got in my face. "You leave her alone, you cow!" The girls stopped giggling and a chorus of oooh's went up.

I turned to face her full on. I was relieved to have her to be mean to. This was easy for me. She stood her ground, taller than most of the girls at Hogwarts, but not me. I tapped her shoulder. "I'll do anything I want to her, anytime I want to do it." I said, still hoping that it was true.

"You won't when I'm around!" she shot back. Just then, the end of lunch bell sounded. So slightly relieved, I gestured to the girls and stormed out of the great hall, making sure to bump Weasley's shoulder on the way past.

The rest of the day dragged by with no sign of her. I made a point of taking it out on first and second year Slytherin girls at every opportunity.

That evening as I made my way to the classroom high in the southeast tower where we first met, on a moonlit night five months ago, I was nervous and irritated. When I eased open the door and saw her sitting, staring out at the stars, all my irritation melted away. I rushed to her, collapsing beside her. I grabbed her hand and said "What were you doing Luna? We had a plan all worked out!" She reached over to stroke my hair and said Softly "I'm sorry Pansy, what was that again?" "Our code!" I said. "You Left me hanging there, listening to Millicent and the others laughing at you and didn't even give me the satisfaction of knowing we were in on it together!" She looked serious for a moment, "I'm sorry, I was just enjoying listening to you say such nice things to me. I didn't realize I had to reply."

I was feeling better, but still a little annoyed. "I almost got in a fight with Ginny Weasley over you." I grumbled. She stroked my cheek. "I'm sure you would have been fine." I chuckled, "Don't be so sure, she scares me a bit." I pulled her in for a kiss. "Now tomorrow when I say I hate you, could you at the very least, say that you dislike me back?" She kissed me again. "I've never liked lying." she murmured, against my lips. "But it's not lying." I said. "Not if you know the code."
