I sit by the pond,running my fingers over the frozen surface.

I'm freezing in the winter air but I don't care.

Seems like I don't care about anything anymore.

But why should I?

The only person I really cared about from this district is dead.

Never coming back.

I think of the morning of the reaping and what we had said.

"Please don't volunteer"I said to my boyfriend,Marvel.

"Angel,why don't you want me volunteer?"He asked.

"Because I don't wanna lose you!"I said trying to keep my voice calm.

"Angel,if I was picked or if I volunteered,you know I'd win"He said taking my hands in his and squeezing them tightly.

"I know but..."I started before he interrupted me.

"Angel!I'll be fine!"Marvel said starting to get annoyed with me.

"Fine!Do what you will"I gave in.

"Good!Now,who's my girl?"He asked.

"Me"I said with a small smile.

"Yes you are,beautiful"he said kissing me before leaving to get ready for the reaping.

I wish I wouldn't have given in.

Then he'd still be alive and right now,we'd be cuddling by a fire and I wouldn't be sitting here at the frozen pond while he's dead.

Tears come to my eyes and I quickly wipe them away.

I wish I would've volunteered.

Maybe I could have saved him and that Katniss girl would have shot me.

I bury my head in my knees.

I remember when I watched him die.

It's an image I'll never forget.

I was watching Marvel on screen as he threw a spear at the little district 11 girl.

Then,the girl from district 12 shot an arrow at him and it hit him.

"NO!"I screamed causing everyone around me to look at me.

His cannon then fired.

"HE'S NOT DEAD!MARVEL'S NOT DEAD!"I had screamed until two peacekeepers grabbed me and dragged me away.

I loved him.

I still do.

I just wish I would've been there to say goodbye and to kiss him one last time.

I remember what he had said when I was saying goodbye after the reaping.

I clutched Marvel's arm,afraid if I let go,he'd disappear.

"Angel"Marvel whispered.

I looked up at him to see him with a small smile.

"I've been trained for this. I can and will win. For you"He said.

I nodded before kissing him.

"Times up"A peacekeeper said walking in.

"I love you!"I said as I was pulled out.

"I love you,too!Don't ever forget that!"He yelled before I couldn't hear him anymore.

I'm lost without him.

I lift my head up and decide what to do.

I get up and make a big hole in the ice using rocks.

After it's big enough,I take my shoes,jacket,and sweater off,leaving me in the T-shirt that used to be Marvel's And My Jeans.

I close my eyes.

"I love you Marvel"I whisper.

I open my eyes and jump into the freezing water.

I'M LOST.
