Not so long ago Rob and Kristen were asked why it was so important for us fans to see them together. They both kinda shrugged and laughed not knowing what to say. The question has recently been circling through my mind, trying to come up with an answer and this is my theory, or the reason why I feel the need to see them together.
In my opinion we need to see them as a couple because they play these two very powerful characters that show their love; we can see the chemistry in their eyes, feel the relationship in our seats as we watch them act the scene out on the screen. We know the passion between Edward and Bella from reading the saga and following the movies, we know how strong their love is. I guess Rob and Kristen's relationship matters so much to us because when they're together it's like they have the kind of love Edward and Bella share. They have this overwhelming, extreme care and love for one another and we want to believe that what we see on the big screen can exist in this life. We want this unrealistic, overpowering love that is betrayed in this fiction series. We want to believe, to see, to know a love that is complete as theirs is. We want to have this love off the page, off the screen, we want to know it exists at all. Most of us have had our hearts broken, and some of us haven't even touched love yet, and that's why we want to see this relationship blossom and bloom, we want to feel the love that Edward and Bella created. We want to be in Stephenie Meyer's world, the one where when you fall in love, you fall totally and completely into it, nothing else matters but that one person and in today's world it's very rare that anyone can experience something that strong, even see it before their eyes.
Everyone wants to be loved, and Edward and Bella's just seem to be the best out there so we put our hope in Rob and Kristen's private relationship, checking for new photos of their off screen lives, hoping to get one glance of Robert go for Kristen's hand, Kristen reaching her arm around Rob's waist, both of them in an embrace, a sweet kiss on the cheek, a coming out of their relationship. We put our noses in their business just for one peek at something we hope to be real. We obsess ourselves with these two people we don't even know. Maybe that's wrong and selfish, but in my opinion it's worth it. I do have guilt for checking twitter, facebook pages, celebrity websites, that makes the paparazzi continue to prey on Rob and Kristen's person time. But I want to witness a love that is unrealistic but is still possible to exist. I want to know that I can have a love that overwhelms me, that becomes me. I hope that Kristen and Rob continue to have this love that we portray them to contain. I hope they hold onto it forever. We love you Robsten and this is why. 3
