Introductions:
And there she lay, nestled in the baby-skin-smooth, bright green grass of her cache -here, she kept her mind secure and away from harms way.
The light brown curls of her hair were intertwined with the lovely, green vegetation, and her pale skin was soaking up the never-ending sunlight which was highly indigenous to Kaui, Hawaii.
She closed her eyes -whose color change much like the ocean, due to light- and longed for the vision presented to her:
Melanie Pierce, her best friend, was lounging beside her -elbows planted firmly in the ground as her gorgeous, long brown hair flowed to the sound of the waves crashing on the shore just a mile away; James, her ex-best friend, smiled at her reassuringly -as if to say, "I'm still here"- and randomly rolled his pudgy body all over the meadow like the psychotic, blonde boy he was; and Sam, her irrevocably devoted significant other, had his strong hand perfectly placed between her tiny, delicate fingers. This was the spring break she had envisioned for herself; unfortunately, the alternative was offered.
Audrey Rogers managed to grasp onto her fantasy for a few seconds more before, one-by-one, her loved ones disappeared from sight -she needed them. And so she waited for her mind to introduce them each to her again; then, for reality to steal them away.
