Joshua walked into the living room and his eyes widened at what he saw. There Mizuki lay on the lounge, asleep. Joshua was astounded by the sight. He immediately strode over to her. Joshua stood over the lounge and looked down at Mizuki's face, he looked perplexed.
"Mizuki? Why are you sleeping? You should be studying!" Joshua reached down to Mizuki and gently shook her body; he attempted to wake her up but had no luck. "Mizuki!" He shouted next to her ear, her eyes immediately fluttered open and she jumped up with a start.
Mizuki sat upright on the lounge, her eyes blinked a few times as she turned her head to face Joshua with a panicked expression. "Joshua, you scared me!" Her voice sounded tight as she spoke.
Joshua laughed nervously at her as he grinned. "Haha, I'm sorry. Shouldn't you be studying though? You need to hand the assignment in soon right?"
Mizuki looked down and sighed. "Yes... I know I need to do it. I'll get started right away..." She looked despondent as she stood up to get started on her assignment.
Joshua looked thoughtfully at her; He tried to think of how he could cheer her up. Before Mizuki had the chance to walk away Joshua had taken her in his arms.
Mizuki's eyes widened and her mouth hung open as she felt his sudden warmth against her. "Joshua..?" She spoke in a low tone as she tried to look at him but he wouldn't budge and held her in place.
"You looked miserable Mizuki... I thought I would cheer you up first so you will feel motivated to start your studies." Joshua spoke in a affectionate tone.
"Oh... I'm sorry for making you worry about me..." she sounded doleful.
"It's okay Mizuki." Joshua spoke tenderly in her ear; it caused her to jump a little.
"Get your work done soon and I will reward you..." He looked passionately at her.
Mizuki looked stunned, she didn't know what he was talking about, but by his tone of voice she had an idea.
"O-Okay... I will get straight to it!" She said now with enthusiasm. Joshua patted her on the head and beamed her a smile.
"That's my girl, I'll be waiting for you." Joshua smiled mischievously at her then walked away.
She Immediately got back to her assignment and hastened to get it done.
