Valmont couldn't sleep but looked out the window of his apartment thinking about his decision he had made just a few hours ago. He looked at his bed to see his beloved sleeping peacefully. "May be," he thought, "I am right in my choice. She's beautiful talented, smart, gorgeous."

'But ' a voice augured in his head 'she has a son who probably will hate you if you married her.'

"The boy's almost grown it's not like I'm taking her away from a little child." He argued

"But still you need to ask the boy what he thinks. Remember she told you she made a promise to her son that if remarrying would hurt him she wouldn't. No matter how much she loves the man she chooses."

Valmont cringed at that thought but then replied "Yes I know and that's why I love her so much she is very dedicated to those she's love's."

'Don't forget you'll also have to deal with her other eight siblings when they find out if she says yes and remember they don't like you very much especially Shendu.'

"I remember but it is her decisions. I think she can handle that hot headed twin brother of hers and her other siblings." Valmont said watching his beloved sleep.

'And you've never seen her in her demon form either.'

"When she's ready she'll show it to me weather she agrees to marry me or not." Valmont said feeling like he had almost silenced this voice that gave him doubts about his beloved.

'But still that leaves Chan and his group.' The voice argued harder

"I served 15 years in prison and I haven't done anything since. Chan will be no trouble."

'And Jade? She has become the daughter that you know your beloved will never have. Will you continue to let Jade see her and treat her like family?'

"Jade is one of her only friends and is the daughter, she and I will never have so beloved can spoil her the way she wants and I will as well. I have become quite attached to that little girl." Valmont suddenly realized whom this voice was starting to sound like and he wanted to forget.

'Something wrong you worthless mortal' the voice suddenly hissed.

"No not you" Valmont said aloud, "Please not you! Your gone, you have no more control over me."

'I will always be here tormenting you.'

"NO! YOU ARE GONE YOU HAVE NO MORE CONTROL OVER ME! LEAVE ME ALONE!" Valmont screamed falling to his knees but he couldn't stop the tears from falling down his face in streams. Suddenly at the feel of some one's touch he looked up into his beloveds face.

"Shush, shush. It's okay. No one is controlling you love. It's okay."

She wrapped her arms around him and held him close. He felt the voice and the bad memory's slip away but not the pain, which continued to bring tears to his eyes.

"No more nightmares." He said softly

"No more nightmares love I'll chase them all away for you. Come back to bed and sleep. I promise no more nightmares."

Her voice soothed him greatly as he climbed back into bed. But she didn't join him she just sat in a chair next to his side of the bed. She softly hummed a tune that soon made Valmont very drowsy, so drowsy that he did not hear soft sobs that came from somewhere that sounded like they belonged to a child.
