"Mama, where are we going?" A cute toddler with a too-big tan hat perched on its head asked as he was walked down the streets to the city plaza.
"Nowhere- now stay here, Kicks, okay?" a cat asked of the toddler as she set him on some cobblestone steps under a boarded door. She rapped on the door and quickly ran off. Kicks swung his legs and whistled a tune. A woman with frizzy black hair opened the door and gasped as she saw the toddler on the steps. She scooped him up and carried him inside. Kicks was sat on a table with a basket of apples on it. A few kids gathered around the table.
"Hi." Kicks said happily.
"Hi." an older girl, about five- two years older than Kicks- said.
"What's your name?" Kicks asked.
"My name is Harriet. I'm helping the woman who lives here!" boasted Harriet.
"Oh..." Kicks mumbled. "Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to meet you too!" Harriet said.
