It had been almost a week since Ponyboy and Johnny have been gone. All the gang except Dally were hanging out at Pony's house watching t.v. We were tired because we would stay up late waiting to see if they would come back. We were watching Mickey Mouse because Two-Bit wanted to and we all were to tired to argue with him. As we were watching it, Darry came into the room, saw me, and left. I guess he doesn't like me because I'm a girl and doesn't want me to be hanging around the place.
The next day I went over to their house again to see if they found anything about Pony and Johnny yet. When I opened the door it was super quiet in the house. I went into the kitchen and found Darry doing some paper work. I turned around deciding to leave when he stopped me.
" Val can I talk to you?"
I turned around to face him.
" Sure."
I sat down at the table ready to listen.
" Listen Valley, I haven't been trying to ignore you. It's been just a rough couple of days here. You also remind me of my brothers a little bit by your personality. I hope you understand that this has been really hard on me and Soda."
" Thanks for telling me. I thought you didn't like me hanging around or something."
Then the door slammed open and someone yelled,
" Is anyone home?"
Two-Bit came into the kitchen.
" You guys want to go to the lot?"
" Sure." we said.
